A little update from Dogwood Grooming ❤️

Unfortunately, yesterday’s storms hit extremely close to our home and brought down several power lines in the area. We are currently without electricity and running water, which means I’m unable to groom until utilities are restored.

I’ve already reached out to those directly affected today, and I’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation before making any decisions about appointments later this week. If your appointment does need to be moved, I’ll contact you directly as soon as I know more.

I’m currently staying elsewhere for the time being, but everyone is safe, and that’s what matters most. ❤️

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while I get everything sorted out. I’m hoping to be back to grooming all of your pups as soon as possible! 🐾

Sweet Coco came back for another groom 🥰

I’ve posted this little girl before, but I had to share the last picture her dad sent me because how cute is that?? 😭 He’s a police officer and Coco gets to go along with him and help bring some comfort and smiles to the kiddos he works with. She even has her own little plushies and figurines made after her 🥹

She may be tiny but she’s definitely an important little lady ❤️

It's been a busy few weeks here at Dogwood Grooming! 🐾

I've been spending a lot of time behind the scenes getting everything switched over to Hello Groom while keeping all of my furry clients looking and feeling their best. Thank you all for your patience during the transition!

How could you not smile looking at this face? 🥹

A little trim, a lot less fluff, and one adorable teddy bear look. This sweet pup cleaned up so nicely and was such a joy to have in the salon. I think the after photo says it all!

This sweet girl officially graduated to her first big girl haircut! 🩷✂️

Before today, she'd only had two puppy intro trims. Those first few visits are all about building confidence, getting used to the sounds, the table, and learning that grooming isn't scary.

Because we took the time to go at her pace, she absolutely rocked her first full haircut today! She stood so nicely and made the whole process a breeze.

It can be tempting to wait until puppies are older for their first groom, but those early introduction appointments really do make such a difference. Watching them grow in confidence is one of my favorite parts of the job.

I mean... just look at that face. 🥹💜

These two siblings came in together for a spa day. 🐾❤️

While their coats looked similar at first glance, they were actually in very different condition. Their brother was able to keep his coat after a thorough de-shed, while their sister had heavy matting and impacted undercoat that couldn't be brushed out comfortably.

Her owner gave me permission to do what was best for her, and sometimes that means starting fresh. Mats pull on the skin with every step a dog takes, so shaving isn't about taking the easy way out, it's about giving them relief.

The good news? Hair grows back, and now she'll be much more comfortable.

I included a couple of photos to show just how much impacted undercoat and matting came off. It's always amazing to see the difference!

No two dogs are the same, even when they live in the same home. Every groom is tailored to what each individual dog needs. ❤️

I don't think she could've smiled any bigger if she tried. 😭❤️

Some dogs are a little unsure about getting their picture taken... and then there's this sweet girl, who looked right at the camera like she was posing for school pictures. 😂

She was all smiles from start to finish, and I couldn't get enough of that happy face.

Mr. Jett is back! 💙

I don't know what it is about those blue ears and tail, but they make me smile every time he comes in. 😂

He cleaned up so nicely and spent the whole appointment looking like he already knew he was the cutest one in the room.

This sweet boy came in for a little spa day and left looking so handsome! 🐾💚

One of my favorite parts of grooming puppies and young dogs is helping them get comfortable with the whole experience. Every positive visit helps build their confidence for future appointments, and this guy was an absolute sweetheart from start to finish.

I mean... can we talk about that little blep? 🥹👅

This sweetheart stopped by for a tidy-up today! 💙🐾

Just a little trim around the face, feet, and sanitary area, plus a fresh bath to keep her looking and feeling her best. I can't get over those big puppy dog eyes. 🥹

Regular tidy-ups between full haircuts help keep coats clean, comfortable, and easy to maintain without taking off all the fluff.
