I see a lot of ppl trying to get into doing skull mounts as a side hustle much like me, and most of them I see are much like I was when I was getting started and there doing the boil pressure wash method knocking these skulls out in a couple days. I learned proper skull cleaning techniques i no longer boil my skulls. My process is time consuming but yields a quality skull mount that will last a lifetime. Right here is a prime example why I do what i do, and a side by side comparison between a boiled skull(on the left) and a macerated skull that I cleaned(on the right). You can see the nasal turbinates are destroyed on the left skull and completely intact bones on my skull. The boiled skull also has heavy grease cooked into the bone as well as bits of flesh and tissue in the nooks and crannies. My skull is %100 free of any tissue. I am also capable of getting %100 of the grease out but that takes several weeks to months and most ppl are not that worried about it.. Sorry for the long read but I’m really passionate about cleaning skulls and think if you are paying someone to do a skull mount you should be receiving a quality product and that is what you get here at East Tn White Bone!! Thanks again to everyone that trusts me with their trophy!
