Doodle Doxie's Fine Time To Leave (Lucille) went best of winners on 6/5/26 at the Inland Empire Kennel Club show in Coeur d'Alene under Judge Dr. Steven Keating. This girl just needs one more major and a few more singles to achieve her AKC Champion title!

Kevin Liechty graciously volunteered to do FastCAT photos at the Memorial Day Cluster in Spokane, then donated them. To show our gratitude, he has asked that we make a donation to the Collie Health Organization! What a very cool and generous thing to do. Anyway, hope you all enjoy these as much I do 🥰

Jan Schreiber awarded GRD's Star Spangled Ramblin Man (Waylon) his first major in Spokane on 5/24/2026. His breeder Denise Gehring was there to share the moment and pilot him in the breed ring. It was a very proud and exciting moment for both of us, one that I will forever cherish.
Waylon is owned by myself and co-owned with Dana and Denise Gehring of Grand River Dachshunds.

Very excited to share the best news! Waylon got his very last major over the weekend and is now pending Ch GRD's Star Spangled Ramblin Man Mw FDC BCAT FitB.

Special thank you to Denise Gehring for showing him at the Five Valley Kennel Club and piloting him in the bred by class. Additional thanks to Shelley McGaugh for taking him in for winners dog and making him shine! How special for him to finish under Judge Dr. Eric Liebes who has awarded two of Waylon's uncles in the past.

Thank you to my dear friend Cassie for recording Waylon's run on Sunday and to Denise for releasing both days. He decided to stop and look back at Denise before continuing his run.... but was super watchy of everyone walking down. This boy goes crazy at home for a lure, or anything he can chase... He doesn't put that same energy into fastcat, so I am not sure I want to pursue DCAT and/or FCAT. He always seems so worried about where I went... if anyone has experience with a dog like this, please feel free to send some advice. I want him to love it, and it doesn't feel like he does... especially after seeing how hyped up his brother Otto got over it.

Saturday, Waylon participated in FastCAT and got a qualifying run of roughly 25 seconds (about 13 points). He only needed 2.7 points for his BCAT title, so we definitely reached that goal! I'll post Sunday's run after this.

I've finally had a moment to make this post after a long and very exciting weekend at Spokane's Memorial Day Cluster!
So very grateful for Denise Gehring from Grand River Dachshunds who drove all the way from South Dakota to help build majors. It was incredibly special to me that she could be here to witness her bred by boy, GRD's Star Spangled Ramblin Man MW (Waylon) get his first 3 point major on Sunday! She took Waylon back in for breed where he got best of opposite. His daughter and my very first bred by puppy, Invading's Tinkling Bells N' Satin Slippers V Grd (Mona) went best of winners over him for her first 3 point major as well! On Saturday, Waylon ran FastCAT and got more than enough points to get his BCAT and is now pending GRD's Star Spangled Ramblin Man Mw FDC BCAT FITB. He is just one 3 point major and 14 field points shy of adding DC to his name too! Many exciting things to come for him.
He and Jolene really outproduced themselves with Mona! She finished her second weekend out with 8 points and has already knocked out both the majors needed to be a champion. It's a great feeling to have this kind've success so soon with her.

I have a male, wirehair puppy visiting me from Grand River Dachshunds for a little bit. He will be 12 weeks old on Tuesday and is looking for placement. Half brother to Waylon (same mom), half brother to Rowdy (same sire.) Both Jolene and Lucille share the sire of this puppy as a grandsire. He will be traveling back to South Dakota in a few weeks, so meeting along route would be possible.
