We are so incredibly thankful for Western Trails Veterinary Hospital and particularly Larissa Keesee we’re always working so hard to assist us and other local shelters and rescues! She started a food drive and collected over 100 bags of food, kitty litter, cans, toys, treats anything you can think of that will enrich the lives of our shelter pets-she got it for us!
We are also so thankful to the patrons of Western Trails veterinary Hospital who brought in these items, you are amazing! We could not function without the assistance of our community and as always you came through again!
Special thanks to Lap Dog Rescue of New Mexico and Simply Diego's for their whopping donations that ensured the goal was reached, and the animals in our local shelters receive GOOD, QUALITY FOOD!!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Ummm can I just piggie back off of our sister rescues post? We have I take space for kittens but not puppies at this time. I see your tags, your messages asking us to rescue pull but we just can’t. We are financially tapped out and Foster’s are doing summer things (as they should) but that doesn’t leave anywhere for them to go.

Adoptable Lucy would like to let everyone know that Pitties & Kitties Rescue is currently on an intake hold through at least 6/15. At that time, we’ll take another look at our finances, foster availability, and current animal population before deciding to open intake.

Also… if you’ve emailed, texted, submitted a foster or adoption application, or sent us a DM and haven’t heard back, please don’t hesitate to follow up with us! Our inboxes are overflowing, and our volunteers are running on fumes at the moment. However, if you’ve messaged us about surrendering an animal… don’t follow up with us at this time.

A little patience, grace, and maybe even a few words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. 😉😂

On a more important note: Lucy would also like everyone to know that she’s cat-friendly and currently lives with a cat! She’s a shy girl at first, but once she feels safe, she’s incredibly sweet. So… anyone looking to give this adorable wallflower a forever home?
