Lure work isn’t the way to train EVERYTHING, but in some cases it is a wonderful skill to have and can make a huge difference when teaching certain actions, movements, and stepping stones to the “big picture” command!!!
Sophie did not understand what we were asking of her at first, but after some luring practice, the movements became smoother and much less frustrating!!
We want to set our dogs up for success, so once we started and noticed the confusion, we took a step back to basics! Eventually, we won’t have to lure at all!! We aren’t giving a command, we are solely asking for movement and engagement here!
