🐾 ❤$5 Friday for Popps, Peach & her puppies❤ 🐾

Remember Peach? At just 10 months old she found herself scared, and giving birth to three tiny puppies in the noisy shelter. Families aren't suited for shelter life, and they quickly found themselves on the euthanasia list when Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue stepped in to save their lives. And then there’s Popps, an 11-week-old puppy who was also rescued from the shelter's euthanasia list.

Before Popps even had a chance to leave the shelter, he was diagnosed with Parvo. He was immediately rushed to the vet, where he received the Parvo antibody and supportive care. Just days later, one of Peach’s puppies became sick. All of Peach’s puppies were rushed to the vet and heartbreakingly, they were diagnosed with Parvo too. Sadly, Peach's smallest puppy was too sick to survive💔

Peach and the puppies who survived have also received the Parvo antibody and supportive care, but they are not out of the woods yet. They are still fighting, and their rescue is fighting right alongside them.

So far, the rescue has already spent over $3,000 on their emergency medical care — and their treatment isn’t finished yet.

Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue says yes to so many dogs in need; we are asking our followers to consider donating just $5 this Friday to support their cause and help Popps, Peach & her puppies recover so they can find their furever💕

Meet Chaparrito (Chapa)🩵

He is a 1-year-old, 50lb Staffie mix looking for his forever family! Chapa was rescued from a local shelter in Austin and has been absolutely thriving with his amazing foster.

He’s smart, silly, affectionate, crate & potty trained, neutered, vaccinated, and full of puppy charm. Chapa loves to zoom around outside but is just as happy cuddling up with his people afterward. He’s food-motivated, eager to learn, and walks beautifully on leash!

Chapa is dog-friendly with proper introductions, does well with children, and has lived around cats (though he may chase if they run). He can be a little stubborn and has some separation anxiety, so he’ll thrive with a patient, experienced family who can continue his training and help him build confidence. Chapa is currently in Austin, TX but can transport out of state to an approved adopter.

Dedicating this years National Dog Day to one of our longest fosters - Chip!

One year. One very special boy. Still waiting.

Chip has spent the last year patiently waiting for his people. Now, he’s looking for either a new foster home or, hopefully, his forever family. 🥹

Chip is a 3-year-old pittie mix who bonds deeply with his people and is the ultimate Velcro dog. He thrives with structure, consistency, and a predictable environment, and he’ll need someone willing to continue his training and help set him up for long-term success.

🐾 Dog friendly with slow, controlled introductions
🐾 Crate & potty trained
🐾 No cats
🐾 Older dog savvy kids preferred

Chip is currently in Houston, TX, but can transport to an approved foster or adopter.

After a whole year of waiting, we’d love for Chip’s next move to be the one that finally leads him home❤️‍🩹

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾🤍

Today we’re celebrating every dog who has touched our lives—and the incredible people who make rescue possible. A huge thank you to our fosters, donors, adopters, volunteers, and supporters. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you.

Every dog deserves a chance, and together, we’re giving them that chance.

Meet Carmen 🖤

Carmen was rescued from the euthanasia list in May from an overcrowded shelter in Houston after she was found as a stray. She is the type of dog many shy away from; a black staffie mix deemed "undesirable". She was in really rough shape; she had a flea allergy which resulted in severe dermatitis, heartworms and kennel cough. The last two pictures really showcase how sick she was.

Carmen was lucky enough to have a caring volunteer who met her, fell in love with her, and ultimately was a huge part of saving her. Despite all odds, Carmen has shown nothing but love, strength and resiliency in her long term foster home!

Carmen has finally healed and shown us her silly personality. She loves her foster sister Bailey, toys, and especially loves being on elevated surfaces 🤣

Next week, she will receive her heartworm injections which means she is just 30 days shy of being ready for her forever home! Dogs like Carmen remind us that while the journey isn't always easy, it is always worth it♥️

Interested in adopting Carmen? Fill out the application in our bio! Carmen will be available for adoption throughout the PNW, Midwest and East Coast.

Meet Abby! 🐾

This beautiful 4 year old Staffordshire Terrier/American Bully mix weighs 64lbs and is as sweet as her name suggests. Abby is a calm, gentle girl with a playful side—she loves her people, enjoys canine friends, and is wonderful at reading other dogs’ body language. She’s fully potty and crate trained, walks nicely, settles beautifully when left home alone, and even puts herself to bed in her crate! She’s also spayed, fully vaccinated, and up to date on preventatives.

Abby is the ultimate cuddle bug and firmly believes she’s a lap dog despite her size! She’s independent, loyal, smart, curious, and wonderfully easygoing, with the occasional adorable case of the zoomies. She’d be happy as an only dog or with a well-matched canine companion. We recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids (10+), as we don’t have history of her living with young children or cats. Her foster says it best: “She’s practically perfect.” And honestly, we couldn’t agree more.💖

Abby is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can be transported to an approved adopter!

Meet Coconut! 🥥🐾

This fun loving 3 month old staffie mix has a BIG personality! He’s smart, curious, outgoing, and always ready for his next adventure—whether he’s chasing toys, exploring, or trying to be the leader of the pack. He’s wonderful with children of all ages and loves his cuddles just as much as playtime!

Coconut would thrive in an active, loving home with plenty of playtime, training, and attention. Another playful dog would be a great bonus but isn’t required. He’s still learning to share his favorite toys and treats, so his family will need to continue working on his puppy manners. Because he’s so young, someone must be home more than they are away to support his developmental needs.

Coconut is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can be transported for an approved adopter!

Meet Snowflake! ❄️

This sweet 3 month old staffie mix girl is already full of personality! She’s playful, outgoing, curious, and loves running, wrestling, and being the leader of the puppy pack. She gets along great with other dogs, loves cuddles when playtime is over, and has been wonderful with children of all ages. 🐾💕

Snowflake is learning her potty routine and doing well in her puppy pen, but she’ll need continued training as she grows. She’d thrive in a loving, moderately active home with plenty of time for play, learning, and cuddles—and a canine sibling would be a bonus! Because she’s so young, her family must be home more than away and able to meet her developmental needs.

Snowflake is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can be transported for an approved adopter.
