A great picture of herd dynamics.
Meesha- looking pleased with herself at the front of the line, despite being fourth in ranking. She is aware her boyfriend Maverick is behind her, protecting her red butt from the wrath of Cleo.
Maverick- calmly standing between two mares without a care in the world. The herd leader knows he can move any horse, at anytime, for any reason.
Cleo- unimpressed with her spot third in line for the pasture gate. The queen belongs in second place. Ears perpetually pinned back for aerodynamics giving her optimal airflow should she decide to charge at anyone.
Dakota- sitting at the back of the line, patiently waiting as usual. Hoping Cleo doesn't take her frustration out on his innocent self. He is last for everything and doesn't seem to ever be bothered about it. He knows he'll eat, he doesn't care when.
Not pictured- Lulu, she is third in herd ranking, fought Meesha for it last summer and won.
Off doing young horse things like sniffing a goat or nibbling on a w**d. Such nonsense the mature horses cannot be bothered with.
