Grant’s student Will Coleman won this year’s Defender 5* in Lexington!
Grant himself is an international show jumper based in Brussels
Grant has represented New Zealand at Nations Cup level and at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen (GER)
Grant has worked with the Belgian Junior and Young Rider European Bronze Medal winning Show Jumping team
He coaches globally in Australia, USA and the United Kingdom
He was also appointed the Show Jump coach for the Irish Team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020
And - even if you have no aspirations of a 5* (or any star) run - Grant can help you and your horse! He teaches all levels and ages, and he can give you great advice whether you’re an eventer, show jumper, or hunter jumper.
Here’s what 2* Eventer Logan Harris says about Grant’s lessons:
“Grant’s philosophy trains the horses to start reading and searching for the next jump. He helped me ride my horse in a more focused mindset. He also helped me keep my eye set on where I am on my path in the course instead of getting ahead of myself and searching out my next jump.”
Here’s what Adult Ammys have to say about Grant after riding with him:
“I genuinely saw a difference in my riding at the last show.”
“His courses force you to think on the other side of a jump.”
“I really like how he talks about the horses and treats the horses. He’s very kind and you can tell he really cares about the animal and getting the best out of them without too much pressure being put on the rider or the horse.”
“No matter what your level, the lesson feels supportive and educational.”
“Grant is humorous, easy to understand, and challenges you just enough.”
“Grant has a way of teaching technical lines in a creative, approachable way. He also adds a sense of humor to the lesson which makes for a relaxed, yet disciplined, learning environment.”
Here’s what two young riders (ages approx. 10) say about Grant:
“He’s nice and I feel like I learn a lot from him, and try new things.”
“Grant is fun and I like my lessons with him.”
