UPDATE: REUNITED!! Jerry is home safe & sound after 13 hours, 31 minutes :)

"🎉❤️ UPDATE JERRY IS HOME & SAFE!!! ❤️🎉

After six long, heartbreaking days, my sweet Jerry is finally HOME. 🐾🏠❤️

Tonight, a wonderful couple was out walking their dog when they heard a cat crying from high up in a tree. They had seen Jerry’s missing flyer and realized this might be him. They called us and asked, “Did you lose your cat?” and described his collar. The moment I realized they were talking about Jerry, I couldn’t stop crying. 😭❤️

Jerry had been stuck high up in that tree, crying for help. The gentleman went back, got a ladder, climbed up, and brought Jerry safely down. They wrapped my exhausted baby in a blanket and kept him safe until we could get to him. I will never forget their kindness. They heard his cries, they cared, and they didn’t walk away. They brought my baby back to me. 🙏🏼❤️

Those flyers didn’t just help us find Jerry — they helped Jerry find his way home. ❤️🐾

For the past six days, so many wonderful people helped us in so many ways. You shared Jerry’s posts and flyers, gave us advice and suggestions, prayed for him, kept your eyes open while walking or driving, searched your neighborhoods and yards, sent possible sightings, and continued giving me hope when I was exhausted and heartbroken.

Some of you didn’t know me or Jerry at all, yet you showed us so much kindness, compassion, and love. I cannot possibly thank each of you enough. This experience showed me what a truly caring community we have.

During those difficult days, I went to church, and I heard a message that stayed in my heart:

“Joseph, don’t quit in the pit.” 🙏🏼

I took it as a sign — don’t lose hope, don’t give up. I held onto those words and kept searching, praying, and believing that somehow Jerry would come home.

And tonight, my little “Joseph” was not found in a pit… he was found high up in a tree! 🌳🐾❤️

To everyone on Nextdoor, Ring, PawBoost, our neighbors, friends, and every person who shared a flyer, searched, prayed, sent a message, offered guidance, or simply kept an eye out for Jerry — THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. ❤️🙏🏼

And to the wonderful couple who heard Jerry tonight and rescued him: you will always have a very special place in my heart. Thank you for hearing his cry and bringing my baby home. ❤️

Six days of searching, praying, crying, hoping, and refusing to give up… and tonight I finally get to say the words I have been praying for:

❤️🐾 JERRY IS HOME. JERRY IS SAFE. MY BABY IS BACK IN MY ARMS. 🐾❤️

Thank you all for your kindness, your prayers, your compassion, your guidance, and your help.

And above all, thank God. 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️

And now my prayer is for every family who is still searching and waiting:

🙏🏼🐾 May all the “Josephs” who are still lost find their way home safely, and may every waiting heart experience the joy we were blessed with tonight. Never give up hope. ❤️🏠

💬 Owner's Message: "Hello! Our beloved cat Maxx Bet has been an outside cat since we found him wandering in O'Neil national Forest. We don't feel its right to keep him locked inside, and he won't let us do so even if we wanted to. He's a great escape artist, and sits at the door day and night constantly meowing at us to let him out to play. Of course doing that comes with all the worries that one might have, and it scares us and sadness us to think of what could happen. At the end of the day, in our hearts we know he is happier outside. So with that being said, if all of you could help us keep track of him that would bring great ease to our minds and hearts knowing he is ok when sometimes it takes days for him to come back. Feel free to post to us whenever you have spotted Maxx, and feel free to say hello to him as well, he is the sweetest boy and we love him, we used to have a gps on his collar but somehow he lost his collar, we have attempted to catch him to put a new one but havent been able to, if you happen to have him, please let us know so we can put the collar back on him"
