‼️ A LITTLE BIT OF GOOD NEWS! ‼️ 🥹❤️

After what feels like an eternity of stress, phone calls, and uncertainty surrounding my grooming bus, I finally have some GOOD NEWS to share! 🎉

After State Farm initially decided to total the bus without even physically inspecting it, I was left in an incredibly difficult position. Not only would I have lost my grooming business, but their settlement wouldn’t have covered what was still owed on the bus. Trying to figure out how I could pay off one loan while being out of work, and then somehow qualify for another loan to purchase a new grooming vehicle, felt nearly impossible.

Thankfully, I decided to involve my own insurance company, Goodville, and I truly cannot say enough about how thankful I am that I did. ❤️

Goodville stepped in, had the bus picked up, and completed a proper evaluation of the damage. Today, I got the phone call I have been praying for…

🎉 THE BUS IS NOT TOTALED! 🎉

I honestly cannot explain the relief and happiness I felt hearing those words. 🥹❤️

There is still a lot of work ahead. The water system, electrical components, AC unit, and other equipment inside the bus have been removed as part of the damage assessment. BUT — the good news is that the bus can be repaired, and my grooming setup can eventually be put back together properly. 🙌🏼

So now I need YOUR help! 🛠️

‼️ I’m looking for recommendations for a good, local, trustworthy body shop! ‼️

Ideally, I would LOVE to find someone who is capable of handling as much of the repair as possible — especially someone who has experience with larger vehicles, buses, electrical, plumbing/water systems, or custom builds. If you know someone who you truly trust, please drop their name below! ⬇️

After everything that has happened, I just want to make sure my bus is in the best hands possible. ❤️

I never imagined I’d have to write a post like this.❤️‍🩹
From where it started to where it’s ending. 💔

Since Friday, I haven’t stopped crying. Every time I think I’ve pulled myself together, reality hits me all over again. I’m honestly at a complete loss for words.

When I started Lexi’s Barking Bowtique, all I had was a dream. I took a leap of faith and poured everything I had into making it a reality. There were sleepless nights, long days, sacrifices, tears, stress, and more obstacles than I could ever count. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel because it felt like nothing was going right. Every time something good happened, it seemed like another challenge was waiting around the corner.

But I kept going.
Not because it was easy—but because this was my dream.

Every bump in the road made me stronger. Every dog I groomed reminded me why I started. Every smiling client, every wagging tail, every sloppy kiss, every hug, every referral, every kind message, every gift, every “thank you” reminded me that this wasn’t just a business. This was my purpose.

I can honestly say I have never been more proud of something than I am of what I built. From an idea in my head to a fully functioning mobile grooming salon that so many families trusted with their beloved pets… I did that. And that’s something no one can ever take away from me.

To every single one of my clients… Thank you.

Thank you for taking a chance on the new groomer with a dream. Thank you for trusting me with the members of your family who can’t speak for themselves. Thank you for believing in me when I doubted myself. Thank you for your patience through every bus repair, every schedule change, every obstacle that came our way. Thank you for every Christmas card, every baby gift, every snack, every coffee, every hug, every recommendation, every kind word, every laugh, and every bit of encouragement you’ve given me over the years.

You have become so much more than clients.You became family.

Unfortunately, after the accident, I’ve received the news that I prayed I would never have to hear.

The grooming bus is being totaled. Those words don’t even feel real.
To most people, it was just a bus. But to me… it was everything. It was where dreams came true. It was where I spent countless hours making dogs feel beautiful, comfortable, and loved. It represented years of hard work, determination, and never giving up. It carried me through so many milestones, and it gave me the opportunity to build relationships with so many incredible people.

Watching it all come to an unexpected stop has absolutely broken my heart.
Because of this, I will not be able to continue grooming until further notice.
Typing those words is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

If you’ve messaged me and I haven’t responded yet, please know it’s not because I don’t care. I simply don’t have the words right now. I’m trying to process everything while also figuring out what comes next.

I don’t know what the future looks like today.
I don’t know how long this journey will be.
I don’t know when—or even what—my next step is.

But what I do know is this…

Dreams don’t disappear because life throws you a storm.

They just have to weather it.

As heartbroken as I am, I know this isn’t where my story ends. Right now, I need time to grieve something that meant the world to me. I need time to heal. I need time to figure out what comes next for me, for my family, and for my business.

I know so many of you are rooting for me, praying for me, and standing behind me. I feel your love, your support, and your encouragement more than you’ll ever know. It has meant everything during the hardest days of my life.

So this isn’t goodbye. It’s simply… See you later.

I truly believe with all my heart that one day I’ll be back doing what I love most—loving on your dogs, making them feel their best, and seeing all of your familiar faces again.

Until then, please hug your pups a little tighter for me.

Dear Valued Clients,

I unfortunately have some upsetting news to share.

On Friday, July 24th, a driver hit my grooming bus. Thankfully everyone is okay, but the bus sustained significant damage and is not drivable at this time. Nobody was in the bus at the time of the accident.

The bus will be towed to a repair shop on Monday so they can assess the damage and determine whether it can be repaired. Until I have more information, I unfortunately have to cancel all grooming appointments scheduled for this coming week.

I know this is an inconvenience, and I sincerely apologize. As a small business, this is incredibly difficult, and I appreciate your patience and understanding while I navigate the next steps. I will keep everyone updated as soon as I know more and will reach out to reschedule appointments as soon as I’m able.

Thank you all for your continued support, kindness, and understanding. It truly means more than you know.

A grooming appointment shouldn’t be something your dog dreads—it should be the highlight of their day! Watching them sprint to the bus with a wagging tail is the biggest compliment I could ever receive. 🩷

At Lexi’s Barking Bowtique, it’s never just about the haircut. It’s about building trust, creating a bond, giving endless love, treats, belly rubs, and making every pup feel safe and excited to come back.

A little personal update from behind the grooming table… 💕

For those who don’t know yet, we are expecting a baby — and we officially found out it’s a GIRL! 🎀

Our little family (and the grooming bus chaos 😂) is growing by one tiny princess this November, and we couldn’t be more excited. Thank you to all of my amazing clients for the love, patience, and support during this journey already. It truly means the world to me while balancing pregnancy, business, and all of your fur babies. 🐾

Sometimes in life, you build relationships in the most unexpected ways — sometimes with people, and sometimes with animals. With Tia, I was lucky enough to find both.

I only started grooming little miss Tia about two years ago, but it truly felt like I had known her and her family forever. She wasn’t just another appointment on my schedule — she was a connection I looked forward to, every single time.

Tia was a special little girl who needed a little extra TLC and patience during her grooming sessions. Being an older girl with her own set of challenges, she taught me to slow down, to be gentle, and to appreciate the quiet trust that forms over time. Those moments we shared meant more than I can even put into words.

To her amazing family — thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your sweet girl, for your kindness, and for allowing me to be a small part of her life. It never went unnoticed.

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to a soul as gentle and special as Tia. She will always hold a place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful for the time I got to spend with her.
