In my Bible reading this morning Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge. God granted him wisdom and knowledge. In the same chapter, after God granted him wisdom and knowledge, Solomon bought 12,000 horses. The way I see it, is if Solomon was wise and knowledgeable and bought horses, I must not be too far off track 😉

“Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.””

My dad taught me to drive trucks and pull trailers.
He taught me to drive trucks in a 1950 something dodge truck with a finicky clutch and transmission. He told me if I could learn to drive it, I could drive anything. There were tears on my part and frustration on his, but I learned and he was right. I’ve driven manual transmissions most of my life from light duty trucks to semi trucks.
He taught me to pull trailers. He said he would ride with me while I pulled the boat to the lake. I got in the truck just as he took off in the car. I remember being so nervous and mad. That boat trailer was tiny😂. But I learned to drive it and learned to back it. I learned to use my mirrors. I couldn’t see the boat trailer because it was so short. I had a hard time backing the empty trailer. He made a flag to put on the trailer so I could see it. He wasn’t the most patient teacher and I was a slow learner but he stuck it out. The skills he taught me, I taught to my boys and my cousin. I would trust all of them with my trucks and trailers.
I’ve used those skills to teach multiple students to back trailers. So if I taught you, thank my dad.
He may not be on this earth but his legacy continues through so many people. When I was pulling the 44’ trailer to the vet today, all I could think was “thank you dad.” It’s because of him I can do it and because of him I’m not afraid. When I backed it into its spot, I thought “thanks dad for that orange flag on the boat trailer and for not quitting on me.” (I still hate backing small trailers. Give me 44’ any day 😂). My dad is still everywhere I look and in everything I do. I miss him. Wednesday marked 4 weeks that he’s been gone.

TNT Shining My Guns (Sq**rt Gun) by Modern Gun out of Shining Nimblena. Going for his first trailer ride so his mom can get noltrex in her stifle. Just because she a broodmare doesn’t mean she needs to be painful. Sheena also gets adequan monthly. She was three legged lame at times when we purchased her in January. We started treatment right away. Now she walks, trots and canters in the pasture.

TNT IPromiseToCooke (Ellie) is rarely with her mother. She goes where she wants when she wants. Here she is with TNT Gun Collector (Smith) and his dam TNT Jess Lika Cooke. Where is her dam, Promise Me a Rolex? In her stall where she belongs. Is she calling for Ellie? Nope. Does Ellie care? Nope.
Ellie is by our late stallion Cooke County ETC. Smith is by Ifwhizswereguns
