Herding breeds are wired to gather, control movement, and keep things together. Sometimes that instinct shows up in the funniest ways. 🥚😂

While this is adorable, it’s also a neat reminder that genetics influence behavior. Finding safe, appropriate outlets for those instincts—like herding balls (or eggs😂), scent games, and structured play—can go a long way toward meeting your dog’s behavioral needs.

Safe to say… Bodie took his egg-herding duties very seriously. 🫡

Behavior-aware pet care is about so much more than simply “getting energy out” 🐾

It’s learning who each dog is as an individual — what helps them feel safe, fulfilled, curious, regulated, and confident in the world around them.

For some dogs, that looks like slowing down and sniffing every flower. For others, it’s confidence-building outings, structured decompression walks, enrichment activities, or simply having someone who understands how they communicate and their emotional needs.

Our goal is always the same:
thoughtful care that supports the whole dog 💗✨

Bandit’s enrichment visit included a stroll through Home Depot 🌿🐾

New sights, new smells, and plenty of time to explore at his own pace — including stopping to smell every flower that caught his attention 💗

Sometimes enrichment looks like adventure. Sometimes it looks like slowing down and taking in the world. Both matter.

Safe to say Bandit approved of the garden section 🌼✨

Sophie came to us for reactivity, and watching her progress has been so special 💗

When we first started, walks could feel overwhelming — dogs and people passing by were a lot to process. Now she’s able to calmly observe the world around her and move on with so much more ease.

One of my favorite parts of Sophie’s journey has been incorporating enrichment into her routine. Her mom has done an amazing job carrying things over at home, and Sophie loves her new activities.

It’s been such a joy getting to support her through both training and enrichment visits — this is exactly what building confidence looks like 🐾✨

Happy Gotcha Day to our very first Hand ’N Paw client, Bella! 🎉

Watching her growth has been so special. When we first started working together, walks could feel really overwhelming — other dogs and people were just a lot to process.

Now she moves through the world with so much more confidence. Sometimes she doesn’t even notice them, and when she does, she’s able to let it go and move on so much faster.

Her family trusted the process, and it’s been such an honor to be part of Bella’s journey. We’re so proud of you, sweet girl. 💗🐾
