How you know it’s gonna be a busy weekend at Proper Pup… 🐾🍽️

When the food station starts looking like a tiny stainless steel restaurant for feral toddlers with four legs. Every bowl labeled. Every meal prepped. Every slow feeder stacked like a game of canine Tetris. Meanwhile I’m somewhere in the background surviving on caffeine and vibes. 🙃

But honestly? I weirdly love this part. The chaos means the pups are coming. 🖤

One of the biggest misconceptions in dog training is that dogs only “listen” in quiet environments.

Real life isn’t quiet. 😌🐶

That’s why we work on training around distractions:
✨ dogs playing nearby
✨ toys being thrown
✨ people moving around
✨ activity happening in and out of the house

The goal is teaching dogs how to stay calm, engaged, and mentally neutral even when exciting things are happening around them.

This is what building reliability looks like. Not perfection. Not robots. Just dogs learning how to make better choices while existing in the real world 🙌

Proper Pup’s after-dinner routine 🐕🦴

Every dog eats in their own kennel…
then I go around and deliver bones like room service.

And almost every time?

👉 Most of them start chewing immediately after eating.

This isn’t random.

Dogs are wired to:
eat → chew → relax

Since they don’t have to hunt for their food anymore,
chewing helps them finish that natural cycle.

🧠 Translation:

* helps them decompress
* regulates energy
* creates calm instead of chaos

💭 Think of it like us:
Big meal → sit down → scroll your phone

Dogs:
Big meal → grab a bone → zone out

Charlie has officially entered the chat 🐾

This pretty girl just got dropped off for her Basic Board & Train, and we’re kicking things off the Proper Pup way… with structure, clarity, and a whole lot of “we don’t just do whatever we want anymore” energy 😅

Over the next 3 weeks, we’ll be building:
✨ Solid obedience (sit, down, place, recall)
✨ Calm mindset + impulse control
✨ Leash manners that don’t make you question your life choices
✨ General house manners (because chaos isn’t cute long term)

Day 1 is all about settling in, learning the routine, and starting to understand how things work here.
