On Memorial Day, please remember the birds and animals who serve and have served in the military. The bravery and intelligence of these animals is often forgotten, but their work has saved many human lives throughout the course of history. Wild budgerigars, native to Australia, are green and yellow in color. All other budgie colors we see in captivity started as genetic mutations and have been bred (and in**ed) to create an array of color morphs for human pleasure. Budgies, and all animals, deserve more than a life created for human consumption.

Getting lots of calls about dovkies today.
They get blown in during storms and accidentally land on land.
Because their legs are so far back on their body they don’t move around very well on land and can only take off to fly from water.
If you find one do it a favor and bring it back to the ocean it will save its life.
Use gloves or a towel to pick up because the oils from your hands destroy their waterproofing.
They are a bird that does absolutely horrible in rehab and they die.
Ocean is where they need to go!
