💕✨ Hi, I'm Diva ✨💕

I'm about 2 years old, and before Big Dogs Don't Cry saved me, my life looked very different.

I was found starving in a cage. My siblings and I were abandoned, and sadly, they didn't make it. I was running out of time too. The shelter was preparing to euthanize me, but then Big Dogs Don't Cry stepped in and gave me a chance. A chance to learn what love feels like. A chance to be someone's family.

And wow... have I been making the most of it. 🩷

My foster family says I've absolutely blossomed. The scared little girl they first met has completely come out of her shell. I LOVE people. More than anything in the world, I just want to be close to my humans.

If I could spend all day curled up beside you on the couch, gazing into your eyes like you're the greatest thing I've ever seen, I would. Because honestly? You probably are.

I've become part of the nightly routine around here. You'll find me snuggled up for Love Island, soaking up cuddles and enjoying every second of being included.

I'm kennel trained and sleep quietly in my kennel with my comfy bed and blanket at night or whenever my people are away. I'm mostly potty trained too! I still have an occasional accident while I learn the ropes, but I'm working hard to figure out how to tell my family when I need to go outside.

I get along well with other dogs and have done wonderfully with my foster siblings after slow introductions. I enjoy having canine friends, but my favorite thing will always be my people.

When it comes to meals, I love my Kirkland Salmon food so much that I eat it a little too fast! A slow feeder would probably help me remember to savor every bite.

After everything I've been through, I don't ask for much. Just a soft couch, a warm bed, a full belly, and someone who will love me forever.

I've known hunger.
I've known loneliness.
I've known what it feels like to be forgotten.

Now I'm ready to know what forever feels like.

For far too long, Ella and Billie called the streets of Gary home. Day after day, they faced uncertainty, searching for safety, comfort, and kindness in a world that hadn't always been fair to them.

But their story didn't end there.

Because of the compassion of several incredible people who refused to look the other way, these two sweet girls were given a chance. A chance to leave survival behind and finally experience what it feels like to be loved. ❤️

Today, we are honored to officially welcome Ella and Billie to the Big Dogs Don't Cry family.

These beautiful girls weigh just 27 and 28 pounds, but they carry stories much bigger than their size. Stories of resilience, hope, and the incredible difference that caring humans can make when they come together for animals in need.

Tonight, they have a safe place to rest their heads. They have full bellies. They have people who care. And most importantly, they have a future.

Every intake we accept is a promise—a promise that we will do everything we can to help them heal, thrive, and find the forever homes they deserve. But we can't keep those promises without your support.

My name is Valkyrie, and I've been waiting patiently for my happily-ever-after.

I'm estimated to be around 1 year old, and while I may have had a rough start, my heart is full of love and hope. I don't ask for much—just a warm spot on the couch, a few belly rubs, and someone to cuddle with at the end of the day.

I have a gentle soul and the sweetest personality. So far, I've done great with other dogs, and when small dogs pass by, I barely give them a second glance. Cats, though? They're just not my thing, so a cat-free home would be best for me.

You won't find me asking for fancy things. What I dream about is a family who will choose me forever. A family who will see how special I am and never let me wonder where I belong again.

After waiting for her perfect match, Violet has officially found her family, and we couldn't be happier for her. Here's to endless love, cozy naps, belly rubs, adventures, and a lifetime of being cherished exactly as she deserves. 💕

🌊🐾 HI! My name is Lumus, and I have a very important question...

Have you ever dreamed of owning a handsome, dog-friendly boy who thinks every puddle, kiddie pool, lake, or water bowl is basically a luxury resort? Because if so... I might just be your guy! 😎💦

I'm a Beagle/Dachshund mix, which means I got the best of both worlds: adorable short legs, floppy ears, and enough charm to get away with almost anything. (Almost. My foster says I still have rules. 🙄)

I LOVE my people. Like, really LOVE them. So much that in my previous home, I got a little too protective of my favorite tiny human. I decided nobody else needed to get near them, and I made my opinions known. Because of that, I came back to rescue.

But guess what? Since being in my foster home, I haven't bitten anyone at all! 🎉 I've been learning that I don't have to be everyone's bodyguard. Turns out, being a regular dog is way less stressful.

A few things about me:
🐶 Dog friendly
💦 Water obsessed
❤️ Loves his humans
🎾 Fun, playful, and full of personality
🏡 Looking for a patient family willing to help me continue being my best self

I do still have an occasional potty accident because I'm working on my house manners. Hey, nobody's perfect! 😅

Because I can become attached to my favorite person, kids in my forever home should be 8 and older and able to understand boundaries while helping redirect me if I get a little too focused on "protecting" someone.

Now, be honest... could I BE any cuter?! 🥹

🚨 SERIOUS SUNDAY: WE NEED FOSTERS NOW 🚨

For the first time in a long time, we have NO open foster homes available.

That means when the next dog needs us, we may not have a safe place for them to go.

We need fosters for:
🐾 Small dogs
🐾 Medium dogs
🐾 Large dogs

Every foster home opens a door for another life to be saved. Without fosters, our ability to rescue comes to a halt.
