BIG NEWS!!! Still Waters Aquatics has moved!

I know I've been pretty quiet on here for the last few months, but I've been busy! I have moved from Menasha to Belgium, WI. In case you don't know where that is, it's 20 minutes south of Sheboygan.

I decided to take only my favorite tanks and fish with me. I went from over 35 tanks/ponds down to only 7. I may slowly build back up, but I might not. Stay tuned to find out.

Here are a few pictures of my old empty basement fishroom as well as the tanks I brought with me in their new homes.

Come check out Fox Valley Fish Fair this Saturday! I'll be there with my good friend, Becky, from Nano Realms!

I'll have a few plants and lots of platinum ricefish, as well as some juvenile white cloud mountain minnows and vinegar eel starter cultures. I'll also be bringing a few more of the crocheted axolotl plushies that were a big hit at the last Fish Fair.

I'm planning to set up a small pond to display the ricefish!

Becky will have plants, yellow tiger endlers, red tiger endlers, least killifish, and emerald dwarf rasboras (the coolest fish that everyone should have and I don't know why they don't!!).

Now that the axolotl that I kept (after raising quite a few from eggs) is about 6-7 inches long, I decided to move him from his 20 gallon to this 37 gallon. He's still exploring and getting use to it, and I have yet to see him use the cave that I made for him.

His name is Jellybean, and he is an axanthic axolotl. This means that he lacks yellow, red, and orange pigments which is why he looks purplish.

Also, I use "his" pronoun loosely because "he" is still too young to determine gender. That won't be certain until he either develops signs of being male, or is closer to 18 months old.

Jellybean eats mostly earthworms but also loves to hunt the feeder fish and shrimp that inhabitant his home.

Axolotls are a type of salamander that remain in an immature stage all through their lifetime.

My Rainbow Shiners are starting to color up! Aren't they beautiful? In this video they know I'm there to feed them. I haven't found any eggs yet...but hopefully soon!

If you've never seen Sturgeon spawning, it's definitely an amazing site to see. Such BEAUTIFUL fish!! This was on the Wolf River in Shiocton, WI.
