Every hedgie in the herd is registered with the International Hedgehog Association and Registry. Our babies are handled from a young age to ensure the best temperament possible, we don't wear gloves so they get to know our scents. I am a small hobby breeder so I do not always have hoglets available but I am more than happy to email you when we're expecting. I can not sell to you if you are in an a

I've been taking a bit of a break to focus on my business and my writing. My debut fantasy novel Witches' Whimsy Emporium came out just last month!

🦔 Fun fact about me: I’ve been a proud hedgehog parent since 2011! That’s over a decade of tiny snuffles, minty toys, and late-night zoomies! It's a labor of love and maybe soon we will have baby hedgehogs again. 💚

My love for these little cuties is what inspired me to start sewing custom toys just for them and now I get to share that joy with you and your pets, too! ✨

🌟 Talk About It Tuesday: Hedgehog Ear Secrets 🌟

Let's take a closer look at the remarkable ear structure of hedgehogs!

Hedgehogs boast excellent hearing abilities, thanks to their large ears. These specialized ears can move independently to capture sounds from various directions, allowing hedgehogs to stay alert and aware of their surroundings.

Not only do hedgehogs use their ears to detect potential threats, but they also rely on them for communication with other hedgehogs. Whether it's signaling danger or expressing interest, their ears play a crucial role in hedgehog interactions.

Next time you admire a hedgehog's adorable ears, remember they're not just for show—they're essential tools for survival and socializing in the wild! 🦔👂

🌟Talk about it Tuesday!🌟

Hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active during the night. Their nighttime activities include foraging for food, exploring their territory, and socializing. A motivated hedgehog can travel ten miles or more a night! I'm sure those day time naps are the best.

Hedgehogs have a unique defense mechanism called "self-anointing." When they encounter a new or unusual scent, they will begin to produce large amounts of saliva, which they then spread all over their spines and body. This behavior is thought to help mask their own scent and make them less detectable to predators, as well as possibly to deter potential predators with the unusual odor. It's still not entirely clear why hedgehogs self-anoint, but it's one of the many fascinating and unusual behaviors that make them such interesting creatures.

🌟Talk about it Tuesday!🌟

While hedgehogs are primarily insectivores, they have a flexible diet and will also consume small vertebrates, fruits, vegetables, and even eggs if available. In captivity, they are often fed a diet of commercial crunchy kitten food supplemented with insects and occasional treats.

Hedgehogs are crepuscular animals, meaning they are most active during twilight hours, such as dawn and dusk. This makes them a great pet option for those who work during the day and are looking for a companion that is active and alert in the evenings. Hedgehogs have excellent night vision and rely on their keen sense of smell and hearing to navigate and find food during the night. They also have the ability to roll into a ball to protect themselves from predators, making them a unique and fascinating animal to observe.

🌟Talk about it Tuesday!🌟
Hedgehogs might not look like speedsters, but they can run surprisingly fast when they need to. Some species can reach speeds of up to 6 miles per hour over short distances, which helps them evade predators.
