Sometimes I cave in and grow "ornamentals" which are often great sources of food for "wildlife", here, meaning "rabid ducks." A collection of highly experimental recipes, smoothies, milkshakes, and other things, often starring the super leaves of Matcha. Haiku for food lovers.

It turns out that if you tuck a lonely chick into a t-shirt and cover them up, it mimics them cuddling under a mama hen and they stop all that ridiculous chirping and go the hell to sleep!!

Patches aka Patchouli was rejected by the mama hen and I've been using this bucket-style purse for nap time and to carry her to and fro as I go to work and run errands.

Hubie is the runt of the hatch and was being eaten by mites.

Lonely and sad, they wanted companionship and safety...

And to eat boiled egg yolks and play in the soil. 🧡🧡

even in the middle of ripping out the kitchen to install the wood stove, we have to take time to care for this who matter. I think this poor girl is egg bound. She's been a bit desolate the past couple of days so I'm giving her a warm soak in a coconut oil bath to help her pass the egg.
