In honor of National Dog Day, we want to celebrate the people who make rescue possible: **our amazing fosters. ❤️**
Foster homes are how we rescue dogs. Without them, we simply can't say YES to as many dogs who need us.
A foster home gives a rescue pup something a kennel never can: a chance to relax, decompress, feel safe, learn what it means to be part of a family, and just be a dog.
And fostering doesn't always have to be a long-term commitment.
**Even a few days can make a difference.**
Sometimes a short break from the kennel is enough to give a discouraged pup a little bit of their spark back. A soft bed, some couch time, a backyard, a little love and attention, and a chance to remember that life can be good.
So, in honor of National Dog Day, we'd love to introduce you to a few pups who could really use a foster break:
🐾 **MATCHA**
Male, about 2 years old, 70 lbs
Matcha is a sensitive, thoughtful boy who does best with structure, calm leadership and a predictable routine. He's doing well around other dogs and would do best with a stable, chill dog or as the only pup. He's not a fan of cats or **young kids**. He's housebroken, crate trained, great on a leash and has training.
🐾 **VIVIAN VANCE**
Female, about 3 years old
Vivian has a BIG personality and an even bigger heart! She loves people and other dogs and is a happy, enthusiastic girl. She's young, eager to learn and would thrive with consistency, structure and some gentle guidance. She also needs a calm environment while she goes through heartworm treatment.
🐾 **LOKI**
Male, about 1 year old
Loki is a total social butterfly who loves people and kids. He's active, affectionate, knows his basic commands and walks beautifully on a leash. He's also housebroken, but he's not a fan of cats. Loki needs to be the only dog in the home.
🐾 **FELIX**
Male, about 7 years old
Felix is the sweetest old man with major curmudgeon-grandpa-in-the-best-way vibes. He's gentle, calm and friendly with dogs, kids and cats. He's been adjusting to life off the streets and loves both his outside time and his fluffy dog bed.
🐾 **CHRISTOPHER**
Male, about 5 years old, 53 lbs
Christopher is a certified sweetheart and basically a big goofy puppy. He loves walks, rolling around in the grass and being with his people. He's dog-friendly and housebroken, but does best in a home without children or cats. He's good on leash, crate trained and has training.
🐾 **BRIENNE OF TARTH**
Female, about 2 years old
Brienne is incredibly sweet with everyone she's met so far. She was recently rescued after being left behind when her family moved and is currently decompressing and healing from some skin issues. She's still getting to know the world, so more of her personality and compatibility are still being discovered.
🐾 **HEDY LAMAR**
Female, about 2 years old
Hedy is currently busy being a mama to **8 puppies** and has been an incredibly devoted mom. Once her puppies are ready to head to their foster homes, Hedy will need a foster of her own. She'll also be undergoing heartworm treatment, so a calm home where she can finally get a break from being a mom and focus on getting healthy would mean so much. And GIRL LOVES her treats! When she gets really excited, she'll even give you the cutest little **toothy smile. ❤️**
**A note about the pups:** Behaviors not listed have simply not been tested yet. If you have questions about a pup's compatibility with dogs, cats, kids, etc., **we can test them!** Just send us a message.
If you have a specific question about any of these dogs, **please message us!** We can help get you more information and figure out which pup might be the right fit for your home.
And if you're thinking, *"I could maybe give one of these pups a break, but I can't foster forever..."*
**Maybe you don't have to. ❤️**
Even a short-term foster can give a dog a much-needed break from the kennel, help them decompress, and give them a little piece of normal life while they wait for what's next.
A few days. A weekend. A little space on your couch. Sometimes that's all it takes to change a dog's entire experience while they're waiting for their forever home.
If you think you might be able to give one of these pups a break, **we know they would be forever grateful. And honestly, so would we. ❤️**
Because every foster home means we can say **YES** to another dog waiting for their chance. 🐾
