Two months with Shakira 💗

When we found out about Shakira, her mouth was hanging open, leaving her unable to eat & swallow. She was in the euthanasia room at animal control & was just minutes away from being put to sleep due to her condition 💔

We decided to rescue her. Our entire team switched off syringe feeding her & caring for her when she couldn’t do it herself.

Shakira has made a full recovery, even though her little tongue does still like to peak out every once in awhile ☺️ She can now swallow & eat perfectly normal.

Shakira is now ready for a home. She is a sweet, calm girl who loves to snuggle & drink water from the faucet 💞

Today really was the BEST DAY EVER ✨

Our sweet senior, Peach found her forever home ❤️

Our hearts are exploding with joy over the fact that Peach will now get to spend her final years in an actual home, and not a shelter. She can bask in the sun, snuggle on the couch & live the rest of her days happy, safe & loved 🥰

Meet Mr. Brightside! ☀️

This big boy came to us during our large-scale rescue of cats exposed to panleuk at the city shelter, and he’s been waiting for his chance at a forever home!

At a whopping 18 pounds, Mr. Brightside is a whole lot of cat! He gets along wonderfully with other cats and is a great coexisting companion. But what he loves most? PEOPLE! ❤️ He absolutely thrives on human attention and wants to be involved in everything. He has a big personality and isn’t shy about letting you know when he wants some love!

Because Mr. Brightside has a strong personality and very specific needs, we’re looking for an adult-only home with experienced, understanding adopters who can appreciate his quirks, respect his boundaries, and help him thrive.

Think you’re the right match for this oversized boy? We’d love for you to meet him! Put an application in at aprilskittens.org/adopt

Today was the first day of our “No Mom Left Behind” adoption special & we started off strong!

Not one, but TWO of our retired mommas found homes— Marge & Ariel 💗

Marge was actually one of our longest resident cats & had been with us since March, before our doors even opened to the public. We were worried her day might never come, but today was Marge’s lucky day! 👏🏻

Our *No Mom Left Behind* adoption special runs through Monday where all retired momma cats are just $75 fully vetted 💖
