My Story
The Woman Behind Gypsy Soul Ranch
If you asked me years ago where life would take me, I probably wouldn’t have been able to give you an answer.
Life has a funny way of taking us places we never planned to go. Sometimes it gives us exactly what we hoped for, and sometimes it takes us through chapters we never would have chosen. But somewhere along the way, I learned that the difficult chapters can shape us just as much as the beautiful ones.
For me, horses have been a constant through so many of those chapters.
They have been there through changes, uncertainty, new beginnings, heartbreak, happiness, motherhood, and everything in between. They have been the ones I could turn to without having to explain how I felt. They have taught me that trust isn't something you demand—it is something you earn. That patience matters. That sometimes the quietest moments can be the most healing.
And somewhere along the way, I realized that the relationship I have with horses is something I want to share with other people.
That realization became part of the dream behind Gypsy Soul Ranch.
GSR isn't just a ranch to me.
It's a piece of my heart.
I want it to be the kind of place where people don't feel judged. Where someone can walk through the gates and feel welcome. Where kids can learn to love and respect horses, where adults can rediscover something they thought they had lost, and where people can simply slow down for a while and breathe.
I want people to understand that you don't have to be an expert to love horses.
You don't have to know everything.
You don't have to have the perfect horse, the perfect riding ability, or the perfect story.
You just have to be willing to learn, willing to listen, and willing to treat the horse in front of you with kindness and respect.
That philosophy is at the heart of everything I want GSR to become.
I've also learned that loving horses means understanding that every horse is different. They each have their own personality, their own history, their own fears, their own strengths, and their own way of communicating. I believe our job isn't simply to make a horse fit into our expectations. It's to learn who they are and build a relationship based on trust.
That's the kind of horsemanship I want to encourage.
But GSR isn't only about horses.
It's about people, too.
It's about friendships that start unexpectedly. It's about old friends coming back through the gate. It's about children finding confidence. It's about someone having a bad day and finding peace while brushing a horse. It's about laughing, learning, getting dirty, making mistakes, trying again, and creating memories that stay with us.
It's about building a community.
And I think that's what I've been searching for in my own way—a place that feels like home.
I've had enough life experience to know that home isn't always a building or a specific place. Sometimes home is a feeling. It's the people who make you feel safe. It's the animals who greet you like you've been gone forever even when you've only been gone for an hour. It's the place where you can take a deep breath and finally let your shoulders drop.
That's what I want Gypsy Soul Ranch to feel like.
Home.
I am still building this dream. I'm still learning. I'm still figuring things out. There will undoubtedly be challenges, mistakes, and days when I wonder how I'm going to make everything work.
But I've learned not to let difficult days convince me that the dream isn't worth pursuing.
Because it is.
I want my daughter to grow up seeing that dreams don't have to be perfect to be worth chasing. That you can start small. That you can stumble and get back up. That you can build something with your own two hands and your whole heart.
And I want the people who come to GSR to see that same message.
You are allowed to start over.
You are allowed to learn.
You are allowed to be a beginner.
You are allowed to change your direction.
You are allowed to love something fiercely.
And you are allowed to build a life that feels like yours.
That's what I'm doing.
I'm building something that reflects the things I care about most—horses, family, kindness, connection, hard work, and creating a safe place where people and animals can simply be themselves.
Gypsy Soul Ranch may have a name, a logo, colors, horses, lessons, leases, and a whole lot of work behind it.
But underneath all of that is something much simpler.
It's a dream built from love.
It's my way of creating the kind of place I believe the horse world—and people in general—can always use a little more of.
A place where you can walk through the gate as a stranger and hopefully leave feeling like part of the family.
A place where horses are more than animals.
A place where people are more than customers.
A place where kindness matters.
A place where memories are made.
A place where there is always room to learn, grow, laugh, heal, and try again.
That is my dream.
That is my story.
And that is Gypsy Soul Ranch.
