Cooling off from the hot day with water exposure. I’m so proud of how much her confidence has grown with us ❤️ We purposely leave the edges of the pool folded down because it allows for easy entrance/exit. Sandie is awesome 😎

Welcoming Sandie to our Board & Train program! ❤️

Sandie is a 17-week-old Miniature Dachshund with a heart of gold and a bright future ahead of her. This week, we’re building a strong foundation by focusing on the essentials: basic obedience, leash skills, manners, and effective communication.

Next week, we’ll begin taking those newly learned skills into real-world environments, helping Sandie learn how to confidently navigate everyday situations while reinforcing her training.

We’re excited to be part of her journey and look forward to helping her grow into the very best version of herself!

Teamwork makes the dream work!!!

Bringing home a new dog from the shelter is exciting, but it can also come with a lot of questions.

We want to give a big thank you to Mebane Canine for providing a puppy handbook that will be included in our go-home bags. Their handbook will help new pet parents start off on the right paw and support our upcoming shelter go-home bag project.

We truly appreciate the local pet professionals who are willing to invest in our community and help set newly adopted dogs up for success.

If you're a local pet professional and would like to contribute to this project, we'd love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out, and let's work together to support pet adoption in Alamance County.

Meet Daisy Mae! A new member of our Mebane Canine Family!

While this sweet girl may look like a Corgi, her DNA results tell a different story—she’s actually a Pit Bull/Chihuahua mix!

Daisy Mae made incredible progress during our very first lesson together. We focused on building clear, effective communication and beginning the process of reducing her reactivity around other dogs and people.

Reactivity can be a challenging behavior to work through, but Daisy and her mom did an amazing job learning new ways to work together and better understand one another. We are so proud of their progress and excited to support them throughout their training journey with us!

Keep up the great work, Daisy Mae! ❤️

Sugar’s parents sent me this picture and it made me smile from ear to ear!! I am so proud of Sugar and her family working on Sugar’s impulse control. For a 4 month old puppy, leaving 6 pieces of CHEESE on her paws demonstrates wonderful impulse control for her age. There is no one “right” way to teach something to a dog. Sugar’s parents are working so hard to help develop a strong Basic Obedience foundation. I love getting pictures and updates like this. They also sent a video and in it, Sugar left the cheese alone until she was given the freedom to eat the cheese. Stellar pup and family 🥰

Moving forward, we will also be including this 20 page guide to all of our Puppy Clients as well 🤩 We love the work we do here at Mebane Canine so the extra work is exciting because of the additional resource it will provide to our clients!!!
