Hi everyone 🤍

I wanted to share a few updates from both Woof & Willow and my own recovery journey.

Right now, I have four puppies in my care battling parvo. They are being treated as outpatients with medications, subcutaneous fluids, around-the-clock monitoring, and lots of love. Please keep these little ones in your thoughts.

We also have three puppies arriving from Texas on June 4th. These puppies were pulled from a euthanasia list nearly a month ago, and thanks to an incredible team effort, they're finally making their way to safety.

We recently learned that Mama Evie is heartworm positive, and she will be starting treatment soon.

As for our adoptable dogs:
- Mama Hannah is still waiting for her forever home.
- Mama Sophie is still searching for her perfect family.
- Maeve urgently needs a foster or forever home.
- Brodie, one of our courtesy listings, is also still looking for a home.

On a happier note, the pregnant dog we welcomed last week safely delivered her puppies and is doing wonderfully in her foster home. And little May, our one-eyed puppy, is currently pending adoption while she waits to be spayed. We're so excited for her future.

As for me, I'm still recovering from the accident—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Some days are better than others, but I am incredibly grateful for the support, messages, donations, and kindness I've received. I have several more appointments ahead, including additional scans and testing, and I'm hopeful they'll help guide me toward a full recovery.

I never thought I would be making a post like this.

A few days ago, I was involved in a serious car accident while driving the Woof & Willow rescue vehicle. I was stopped at a red light when two vehicles behind me collided, causing my vehicle to be sandwiched between them.

I am incredibly grateful to be alive, but I suffered a concussion, bruising throughout my body, and I'm still struggling emotionally with everything that happened.

The rescue vehicle was totaled.

What makes this especially difficult is that this wasn't my personal vehicle—it was the dedicated Woof & Willow rescue vehicle. The vehicle used to transport puppies to vet appointments, pick up dogs from shelters, attend adoption events, deliver supplies to fosters, and help save lives.

Because the vehicle was older and fully paid off, insurance will likely not provide enough to replace it with another reliable rescue vehicle.

I don't ask for help easily, but right now I need it.

I created a GoFundMe to help replace the rescue vehicle and keep Woof & Willow moving forward for the dogs who depend on us every day.

When it rains it pours! I’m still physically and mentally recovering from yesterday’s accident. But we have a parvo positive puppy who needs a temporary foster until I can get back on my feet. Hi everyone, Dana here. 🤍

Today, I was involved in a pretty serious car accident while driving the Woof & Willow vehicle. I was stopped at a light when two vehicles behind me collided at full speed, causing my car to be sandwiched between them.

I’m incredibly grateful to say that I am currently being checked out at the hospital, but unfortunately, the Woof & Willow car was totaled.

To be honest, I’m overwhelmed. That vehicle was fully paid off, and while it wasn’t worth much financially, it was everything to this rescue. It’s how I transported puppies to vet appointments, picked up donations and supplies, helped dogs in emergencies, met adopters, transported animals, and managed the day-to-day reality of rescue work.

Right now, my biggest worry is continuing to care for the dogs who depend on me without reliable transportation. Unfortunately, this also means I’ll now have to somehow figure out how to purchase another vehicle for Woof & Willow so we can continue rescue operations and safely transport the dogs in our care.

If you’ve ever supported Woof & Willow, shared our posts, fostered, donated, adopted, or simply cheered us on from afar… thank you. This community has carried us through so many hard moments, and I’m hoping we’ll get through this one too.

Mama Sophie has been through more than most dogs ever should. 🤍

She was saved from a high-kill shelter in Texas alongside her puppies after finding herself on the euthanasia list — scared, exhausted, and completely out of time. Back then, Sophie was painfully shy and unsure of the world around her. But despite everything she had been through, she still chose kindness. She still chose trust.

Now? Sophie is finally starting to let her personality shine through, and it’s been such a beautiful thing to witness.

One thing about Sophie? She LOVES other dogs her size. Watching her run, play, and be carefree with another dog is like watching a completely different version of her emerge — happy, silly, playful, and finally able to just be a dog again. 🐾

Her puppies have all found homes, but sweet Sophie is still waiting for someone to choose her.

She deserves more than the life she came from. She deserves a family who sees how special she truly is.
