Some dog behaviors can feel a little spooky this
time of year.

Door charging. Toy guarding. Selective hearing
around distractions. Pulling on leash. Howling at
everything outside.

But instead of writing them off as your dog’s
personality, it may be worth asking: What skill is
missing here?

Identifying the gap gives you something you can
actually work on.

No tricks. Just training from Dog Training Elite
Pittsburgh.

Sometimes a calm presence can make a meaningful difference.

Therapy Dogs can provide comfort and connection in a variety of settings, from spending time with seniors to visiting
schools, hospitals, and community organizations.

Their job isn’t to perform a medical task. It’s to be a trained, dependable presence for the people they meet.

A Therapy Dog needs more than a love for
people.

Hospitals, schools, senior communities, and
other public settings can come with unfamiliar
people, sounds, smells, equipment, and
distractions. Therapy Dogs need the
temperament and training to remain calm
and dependable through it all.

That’s what helps turn a friendly dog into a
dog prepared to bring comfort to others.

The Doberman might have a reputation for being intimidating, but there’s a lot more behind that serious face.

They’re intelligent, loyal, alert, and often incredibly connected to their people. With that intelligence and intensity
comes a need for consistency, structure, and plenty of opportunities to put their brain to work.

We're not just trainers. We're dog people.
That's the difference. That's Dog Training
Elite Pittsburgh.

Every trainer on our team lives this every
day, the early walks, the muddy paws, the
dogs who test our patience and win our
hearts anyway. That's exactly why we get it
when your dog struggles, and exactly how
we know what actually works.

This is what real-world progress
looks like.

For River, that meant walking
without pulling, listening to
commands, and better behavior
around everyday situations like
the front door. For his family, it
meant seeing a completely
different side of their dog.

Way to go, River! We’re grateful
your family chose Dog Training
Elite Pittsburgh.

Some dogs support people in ways that go far beyond companionship.

Service Dogs are individually trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability, while Therapy Dogs are trained to
bring comfort and connection to others. Different roles, different training, and both require the right temperament,
skills, and preparation.

Today, Dog Training Elite Pittsburgh is celebrating the incredible partnerships between people and the dogs who
support them.

You and your dogs put in the time, patience, and practice — and it showed. Passing the CGC test is a big accomplishment that reflects solid obedience, calm manners, and a strong bond between dog and owner.

I am proud of every one of you. Keep building on this success and enjoy the confidence that comes with having a well‑mannered, reliable companion.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We're grateful to be able to train service dogs for veterans, especially through our partnership with Vets Helping Heroes.

As we spend time with family, friends, and our beloved pets, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and the heroes who have paved the way for our freedom. 🐾❤️
