Northwest Boxer Rescue is the largest nonprofit, volunteer-driven rescue serving the Pacific Northwest and Southern California. Our mission is simple: rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Boxers in need while educating and supporting the people who love them. We take in unwanted, abandoned, and medically complex dogs—regardless of age, condition, or ease of placement—and give them the care they deserv

e. Every dog in our program receives veterinary treatment, is spayed or neutered, and is placed in a safe, loving foster home while they wait for the right forever family. We work hard to place each dog in a responsible, committed home and help adopters feel confident and prepared for the lifelong commitment of bringing a dog into their family. At the heart of it all, we believe every Boxer deserves safety, healing, and a second chance.

Sometimes being abandoned is what saves your life.

For Wyatt, it was.

This week, sweet Wyatt was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield. No collar. No chip. No story. Just a body so frail it told us everything we needed to know: he has been going without for far too long.

The shelter called and asked if we could take him. Of course we said yes and headed right over.

Wyatt is now in the hands of one of the best veterinary teams in Southern California, and we’ve told them one thing: do whatever he needs. We don’t know yet what that will mean or what it will cost. We just know he has gone without care long enough.

We are heartbroken. We are angry that any dog is ever allowed to get to this point. And we will not fail this boy.

You have shown up for every dog we’ve ever asked you to fight for. You have never made us go into one of these fights alone.
Wyatt doesn’t know it yet, but he is counting on that same community now.

Every dollar raised will help cover veterinary care, diagnostics, treatment, and whatever recovery requires. $10, $25, $50, whatever you can give. It all matters right now.

Wyatt didn’t have anyone looking out for him last week.
This week, he has all of us.

A 6-day-old Boxer puppy with a cleft palate? Yep. She’s ours.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A Boxer who was literally skin and bones? Yep. Him too.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And then there’s Atlas.⁣⁣

Old. Blind. Ridiculously sweet. Sitting in a high-kill shelter.⁣⁣

Thanks to the powers that be (aka our amazing rescue volunteers), this sweet old guy is officially FREE! 🙌⁣
⁣
His owners never came to get him. He’s old. He’s blind. And after sitting in a stressful kennel, he was desperately in need of someone to see him for what he really is — a dog who still deserves to be loved.⁣
⁣
Today, that changed. ❤️⁣
⁣
He’s on his freedom ride to a cozy dog bed and a foster home where he can decompress, feel safe, and get loved up BIG TIME.⁣
⁣
We’ll get this handsome dude fully vetted, too, to make sure there aren’t any underlying health issues. And judging by those ribs, this guy could definitely use some groceries. 🥺⁣

We love when people don’t just ask, “How can I help?” — they find a way to make it happen.⁣

A huge thank you to Ivy Renfroe and everyone who supported her co****le fundraiser, raising $1,000 for Northwest Boxer Rescue! 🐾⁣

And thank you to Katie Jo Calhoun, who raised $500, with Tarragon Property Services matching her gift to make it $1,000. Katie also collected treats and toys for our rescue pups! 🐶⁣

Together, these fundraisers brought $2,000 + lots of goodies to the dogs who need us.⁣
⁣
But what we’re celebrating most is the initiative, creativity and genuine desire to do good behind both efforts.⁣

Meet Loki. Your future adventure buddy is accepting applications. 🐾⁣

3 years old. Ridiculously handsome. And just a little shy. He likes to do his research. 👀⁣

This California boy is now fostered on a small farm in Ellensburg, where he’s been learning the finer things in life: house manners, security, confidence, and what it feels like to have a soft place to land.⁣
⁣
He’s great with other dogs and has learned to coexist with horses and mini pigs. Small livestock? Well… Loki would like to conduct further research. 😂⁣
⁣
What he really wants is a patient, peaceful home where he can keep growing into the confident, goofy, loving boy he’s meant to be.⁣
