It’s National Parks Week! 🌲🗻🌵

Do you know that, with 2.9 million horses, the recreation sector is the largest in the horse industry? 🐎

In 2022, the Bureau of Land Management estimated 3 million visitors participated in horseback riding.

The National Forest Service reported 206 thousand visitors participated in horseback riding.

The National Park Service reported 1.6 million visitors participated in horseback riding!

American Regent, Inc. Animal Health is conducting a nationwide recall of two lots (25011 and 3369) of Adequan® Canine Injection (for dogs), 100 mg/mL 5mL multi-dose vials and two lots (24416 and 25265P) of Adequan® i.m. Injection (for horses), 500mg/5 mL single-dose 5mL vials to the consumer level. The products are being recalled due to the presence of glass fibers found during testing of internally retained samples.

📢 The U.S.-Mexico land border remains closed to the import and export of livestock, including horses. As a result, horses cannot enter the United States from Mexico by land, and horses in the United States also cannot cross into Mexico. Horses may still enter the United States by air under existing import requirements.

When closure of horses entering the US was first announced, USDA explained that it was intended to reduce the risk of New World screwworm entering the United States from Mexico. Since then, the situation has evolved. Mexico continues to manage outbreaks, and New World screwworm has now been detected in the United States. Despite this, the restrictions on land movement remain in place..
