Lifeās been loud as ever lately, so Outlaw Ridge has been a little quieter online.
If youāve been around here for a while, youāve probably noticed fewer posts, slower replies, and me being a little less visible. Thatās not from lack of care. Itās from balancing a full-time dispatch job, full-time with the barn, and the rest of life without running myself into the ground trying to keep up appearances online.
Truthfully, this season has forced me to get real clear about what I want Outlaw Ridge to be - and what I donāt.
Iām not interested in building a barn thatās loud, overcrowded, chaotic, or full just for the sake of saying itās full. Iām not interested in chasing numbers, packing the schedule, or stretching myself so thin that the horses, the clients, and the quality of care all get the leftovers.
Iād rather build this place slower and build it right.
That means Iāve been doing a lot behind the scenes: tightening up lessons, refining board and lease expectations, protecting my time better, and being a hell of a lot pickier about what - and who - gets access to this space.
Because peace matters here. So do boundaries. So does the environment these horses live in and the kind of people standing in it.
My full-time job has sharpened that in a big way. Itās taught me how much noise is unnecessary, how fast burnout creeps in when you donāt protect your peace, and how important it is to stop treating every little thing like itās a five-alarm fire. Not everything needs my energy. Not everything gets access. And not everything is worth disrupting a good thing over.
So moving forward, Outlaw Ridge is staying intentionally small and intentionally selective.
Right now availability is limited to:
⢠2 boarding spots
⢠1ā2 lease opportunities
⢠3 lesson spots
And yes, thatās on purpose.
I want a quieter barn. A better one. A place for good horses, practical horsemanship, solid people, and a slower kind of growth that actually lasts. More retirement, more trail, more western foundation, more intention - and a whole lot less chaos and bu****it.
If youāve stuck around while things have been quieter, I appreciate it. Truly. And if youāre new here, welcome. Just know this place is being built with a lot of thought behind it, and Iām done rushing it just to make it look successful from the outside.
Good horses arenāt built in one ride. Good barns arenāt either.
