💢Update Both Adopted💢
💔 A Bittersweet Adoption Plea for Ralph & Lauren

Meet Ralph & Lauren, our last two kittens who will be waiting for families at our local PetSense. ❤️

This one is a little bittersweet for us. Sadly, our PetSense store will soon be closing its doors. Over the years, they have been an incredible partner to our shelter, helping hundreds of cats and kittens find loving homes. We are so grateful for every adoption, every share, and every family that found their new best friend there. 🐱❤️

Now we would LOVE to see Ralph & Lauren leave PetSense the very best way possible—in the arms of their forever families!

🐾 Adoption fee: $25 each
🐾 Spayed
🐾 Up to date on vaccinations
🐾 Ready for a home of their own!

If they aren't adopted before the store closes, Ralph and Lauren will have to return to the Animal Control Shelter. We'd really love to spare them that transition and send them straight from PetSense to HOME. 🏡❤️

Meet Frankie, a handsome Great Pyrenees mix who is patiently waiting for a family to call his very own. ❤️

Frankie is about 1 year old, heartworm negative, and completely vetted—all he needs now is a HOME! 🏡

Frankie can be a little shy when meeting new people, so he may not be the dog who immediately runs up begging for attention. But give him a little time to get comfortable and bond with you, and you’ll discover the BEST part of Frankie. Once he decides you’re his person, you’ve got yourself a new best friend. 🥹❤️

Sometimes the shy dogs just need someone willing to give them a chance—and Frankie deserves that chance.

🐾 BIG BOY JACK IS LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT HOME! 🖤🤎

Meet Jack, our handsome Rottweiler with a whole lot of dog to love! At over 80 pounds, Jack is a BIG, strong boy, and we’re looking for a home that understands his breed and can give him the structure, guidance, and love he deserves.

Jack is dog selective. He seems to enjoy the company of larger female dogs, but he cannot be placed with male dogs or small dogs. A meet-and-greet with any potential canine sister will be required.

We don’t know Jack’s history with children, and because of his size and strength, we feel he would be most successful in a home without small children.

🏡 Jack’s ideal home:
🐾 Rottweiler or large-breed experience preferred
🐾 No male dogs
🐾 No small dogs
🐾 A large female dog may be a good match with a meet-and-greet
🐾 No small children
🐾 Someone comfortable handling an 80+ pound powerhouse!

Jack may not be the right dog for every home—and that’s okay. He only needs to be the right dog for ONE home. ❤️

We know there’s a Rottie lover out there who will look at this big handsome face and say, “That’s my boy.”

🐾 MEET MISTY — SHE’S READY FOR A DIFFERENT KIND OF LIFE 🐾

For most of her 5 years, Misty’s world has been life outside on a chain. 💔 Now, we’re hoping to show her that life can be so much more.

Misty is a beautiful German Shepherd who truly enjoys being around people. After spending so much of her life outside, she deserves to learn what it feels like to be part of a family—to have a soft bed, a safe yard, someone to follow from room to room, and a person to call her own. 🏡❤️

🐕 About Misty:
• 5 years old
• Female & spayed
• German Shepherd
• Loves being around people
• Great with other dogs
• A meet & greet will be required with any dogs already in the home

Misty can’t change the first five years of her story, but someone out there can change every year that comes next.

Did you know ASAP of McComb, MS (Aiding Shelter Animals Project) helps provide many of the everyday extras for the animals at the City of McComb Animal Control Shelter that the City is unable to provide? ❤️🐶🐱

One way ASAP raises money is through TWO booths at Rustic Charm Vendor Gallery in Summit!

🛍️ Aiding Shelter Animals Booth — Always filled with treasures just waiting to be found!

👶 Dollie’s Closet — Gently used baby items and children’s clothing at great prices!

💯 ALL proceeds from BOTH booths go directly toward helping animals! Funds help with things like:
🐾 Shelter supplies
🐾 Extra medical needs
🐾 Transportation costs
🐾 And other needs that come up for animals in our care

📦 YOUR DONATIONS CAN HELP!

ASAP is always looking for donations—big or small—to sell in the booths. Cleaning out closets, redecorating, or just have some nice things you no longer need? Consider donating them and turning those items into help for an animal! ❤️

🎉 BABYGIRL FINALLY FOUND HER PERSON! 🐾❤️

After months of waiting at the shelter, our sweet Babygirl finally found the person who was willing to give her the chance she deserved.

Babygirl has always been shy around new people, which made finding the right home a little harder. But we refused to give up on her. We just knew that somewhere out there was someone who would see past her nervousness and give her the time she needed.

And then that person came along. ❤️

But Babygirl decided to make sure her new family was REALLY committed! 😅 Within minutes of arriving at her new home, Babygirl got loose. Monique made a trip out to help get her safely caught, and after all that excitement, her adopter could have easily said, “Maybe this isn't going to work.”

But she didn't.

She didn't bring Babygirl back to the shelter. She gave her another chance. She gave her patience, time, and a safe place to realize that she was finally HOME. 🏡💕

And now look at her! 😭❤️ We received these pictures of Babygirl settled into her new life, and they mean more to us than we can put into words.

Thank you for not giving up on her when things didn't start out perfectly.

And Babygirl…we're SO glad we never gave up on you either. ❤️

Sometimes the dogs who are a little harder to reach are the ones who make the happy endings that much sweeter.

Happy tails, Babygirl! You waited a long time for this. 🐾🏡❤️

What a wonderful evening we had at our Open House yesterday!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to stop by and visit us. We were so grateful to welcome city officials, community supporters, friends, and plenty of new faces through our doors. Your support and interest in what we do at the City of McComb Animal Control Shelter truly means so much to us.

And we weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the company! 😂 Our dogs and cats had the BEST time meeting everyone, soaking up all the extra attention, and—most importantly—collecting LOTS of treats! 🐶🐱🦴

Now for my one regret… I talked so much that I completely forgot to take pictures! 🤦‍♀️😂 I guess that’s what happens when you’re excited to show everyone around!

Today is the day!! We can't wait to see everyone! Looks like the rain will be moved out just in time 🙌

We have many sweets that will be up for grabs at our sweet table. And fresh lemonade to enjoy. All donations collected will go to Mississippi Animal Project, to help provide spay and neuter vouchers for the public.
