Alright, you guys, this is the glare in question. The absolute iconic "How dare you handle my paws, even gently?" look! 😂🐈

My favorite resident wall-climber🧗‍♂️🐾 had some feelings for me during his latest nail trim. His parents had been away for the week, which meant he was feeling extra grumpy, and he made sure I knew it with this very specific expression of feline annoyance!

Even with all the drama, he knows he can trust me to handle him safely and compassionately. It just means we take a few extra mandatory selfie breaks—like this one!—and proceed with maximum patience until every claw is perfect.

When Gunner’s mom first reached out to me, she originally booked for just his back nails. Front nail trims had always been a major hurdle, as no one had ever been able to trim them calmly or safely.

It’s actually very common for dogs like Gunner to feel extra anxious about front paw work. Having someone right up in their face and working near their front legs can feel intense and overwhelming.

With his mom’s permission, after we easily finished his hind paws in the lift, I attempted a trim of his front nails. By gently supporting him and placing his slender front legs back toward me, it completely removed the sight of the trimmer and the fear of everything happening right in his face.

It worked like absolute magic!

Now, Gunner gets all four paws done on a regular schedule like a total pro at each visit! The peanut butter snacks after don't hurt either!
