There are three types: miniature, standard, and the giant. The breed is known for their intelligence and stubbornness, loving to ignore their owner when their name is called. -AKC Club

Rivy is a miniature schnauzer with a parti coat with ticking (black spots). He is intelligent, protective, loving, stubborn, and loves snacks and laying beside his mom.

Help! My mom is in jail! She tried stealing the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office’s K9. Who is going to feed me treats?! Better go buy a T shirt to help your good boy out!

Oh, and help New Nodaway Humane Society and North Star Advocacy Center out too…

💜🐾Protect every paw!

💜🐾October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this year, we are partnering with the New Nodaway Humane Society to specifically raise awareness of pets who experience trauma from abusive relationships.

THIS WEEK ONLY, we are having a T shirt fundraiser. We want you to wear them in October! Proceeds will be divided evenly between our two organizations. Both orgs also designed the logo, and it is being made into fruition by K.B Creations LLC!

Orders will only be accepted by you sending us your order through NORTH STAR’S FACEBOOK MESSENGER. *Orders placed in the comments, to individual staff members, or to the NNHS will NOT be placed. This helps both orgs by keeping orders all in one place.

5XL: $23 *color will slightly differ

Around 10,000 puppy mills operate in the United States. -Humane World For Animals. Unfortunately, Missouri ranks at the top of the list for 14 consecutive years in cited puppy mills.
Today is Puppy Mill Awareness Day and Responsible Dog Ownership Day. Some of Rivy’s closest doggo friends are puppy mills survivors who were rescued by reputable humane societies.
Here are some simple ways to be a responsible dog owner:
-Have a lifestyle that has time for a dog.
-Keep vaccines updated.
-Research the breed(s).
-If it’s an emotional support dog, make sure YOU are meeting its emotional needs as well.
-Be consistent and have a routine.
-Research the breeder (ask to see the living conditions of the dogs), ask the pet store questions, call your humane society, don’t contribute to businesses who make profit from puppy mills.
-Play/interact with your dog.
-Be in tune with your dog’s feelings and behaviors.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the color symbolizing that being gold. This was a special request made by the parents of a young girl, Alyssa, who passed in 2017 due to brain cancer. Her parents told me Alyssa’s favorite color was blue and she loved butterflies! 🦋 This is a special way to honor her.
