🐾 Cat Drop-Ins vs. Dog Drop-Ins: What It Really Looks Like 🐾
I get this question a lot, so let’s pull back the curtain a bit.
A dog visit usually looks like high energy from start to finish. Potty breaks, short walks, playtime, treats, pets, happy chaos, repeat. Dogs want engagement and movement, and I’m happy to match that energy 🐕✨
Cat visits are a different rhythm entirely.
For example, in one home I care for:
• A senior cat who needs daily medication. She gets her meds, some wet food, and then prefers peaceful coexistence. Same couch, same space, no forced interaction.
• A shy, nervous cat who doesn’t want to be touched. For her, a successful visit looks like a soft voice, acknowledging her presence, offering wet food to reinforce a positive interaction, and then calmly sharing space without pressure.
• Another cat who loves playtime, toys, and pets and happily demands both.
So yes, sometimes cat drop-ins look like I’m “just sitting on the couch.”
In reality, I’m reading body language, respecting boundaries, reinforcing trust, and letting each cat decide how the relationship unfolds.
With cats, trust is built quietly.
With dogs, love is loud.
Both matter just as much 💛
If your cat needs care that honors who they are, not who we want them to be, that’s exactly what I show up to do
