Compassion is one of our core values at WalkEase. That means we treat every animal with kindness, patience, and respect. Sometimes that means we need to take things slow and allow animals to learn that they can trust us in their own time. Cortado was very nervous of us when we started walking him. By staying calm and rewarding him when he approached us, we were able to gain his trust within a few visits. Having a nervous pup doesn’t limit your options, it just means you have to find the right team for your pup.

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone has an amazing time celebrating this weekend! Unfortunately this tends to be a scary weekend for dogs, so here’s your reminder to prep that enrichment!! Using high quality ingredients like peanut butter, bone broth, or pumpkin and freezing them inside of a kong or bone is a great distraction for your dog. You’ll want something that takes a long time, so by them time they’re done with it, they’re totally exhausted and ready to nap.

We also recommend desensitizing them to the fireworks noise by playing some quieter fireworks on your tv leading up the 4th, then switching over to classical music or jazz while the fireworks are going on outside. This helps them learn to ignore the fireworks noise and then blocks it out a bit so it’s not the only thing they hear.

Stay safe and have fun! Happy fourth!

Kobe’s hair is absolutely gorgeous, but it also makes it very difficult to find ticks on his skin. We try to stay ahead of this by doing tick checks after every walk, especially if we’re in a wooded area. Sometimes we can catch them early before they get too deep into your pet’s fur. We recommend doing tick checks at least once a week to check areas your pets may not want us poking around in, such as in between their toes or in their ears.

Throw. The. Ball.

Let’s burn that energy! Whether your pup loves tug-of-war, fetch, or even hide and seek, we’re here to play! High energy and anxious dogs benefit greatly from intense play sessions. It gives their mind a goal to focus on while burning physical energy. We love to incorporate simple commands like “sit, down, and stay” into our play routine to keep their mind focused. This adds mental stimulation to the game and can burn twice as much energy.

Your pets safety is our #1 priority. Sammy is a bit naughty when he’s outside. He likes to eat things… and by that we mean everything. He likes to eat absolutely everything. He’s already had two surgeries (both before his 1st birthday) for bowel obstructions, so now he has to wear the Sammibal Lector muzzle when he’s outside 😂.

This muzzle is a fantastic tool and has already helped keep Sammy safe. He can still breathe perfectly fine, but he’s no longer able to pick things up and eat them. We give his muzzle a quick rinse when he gets inside and he gets to enjoy his time safely and without us chasing him around all day. We highly recommend it if you have a troublesome pup at home!

Let’s talk puppies! Are they adorable? Yes. Are they an absolute terror while you try to get anything done? Also yes.

Puppy visits aren’t just for working parents who need mid-day potty training help (although that’s an excellent reason to hire a dedicated pet care team). They’re also for the at-home parent who needs someone to burn that puppy energy while they get something done.

Maverick here is actually part of the team. He was visiting the office for a few hours when we got an SOS text from the staff begging for a walk 😂. No one understands puppy frustrations like we do, so we popped right over to help out (and to get some puppy cuddles - obviously 😍). He enjoyed a quick walk/jog with his new friend before returning back to the office for a nice long nap.

Planning to add a puppy to the family? Reach out to get your pet care set up ahead of time. Trust us - you’ll want to have your backup ready 🤣
