Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue Saving one Gray dog at a time. Please visit our website www.atlantalovesweims.org for more information.

The Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue (“AWCR”) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization of Weimaraner enthusiasts and owners in the Atlanta area. Our Mission:

To rescue, nurture and connect abandoned Weimaraners with forever homes

… one gray dog at a time

AWCR provides Weimaraner owners with a place to meet others that enjoy doing things with their Weimaraners. In addition to the social asp

ect of the club, the Atlanta Weimaraner Club provides for the rescue, care, and adoption of lost, surrendered and homeless Weimaraners. The AWCR assists in re-homing Weimaraners by providing foster homes. The funds for the rescue program are raised through various fundraising events and donations. The Club also provides public education on the breed and responsible dog ownership. Our rescue program is run strictly on a volunteer basis and supported through fundraising and private donations. We do not have kennel facilities nor do we receive financial help from the government. Please join this group of dedicated individuals who are the true heart of the organization by becoming a member and helping raise funds to rescue our gray friends. We have a dynamic group that has come together to dedicate time and focus on rescuing dogs through friendship, fun and fellowship!

🐾 Welcome to AWCR, Hayley! 🐾
Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest rescue girl, Hayley!
Poor Hayley was picked up as a stray south of Atlanta, and sadly, no one came forward to claim her. As soon as we heard her story, AWCR stepped in to make sure she gets the love and care she needs.

Here is what we know about this lovely girl so far:

Hayley is a petite girl at a perfect 56 lbs. She is sporting a beautiful, natural tail, is housebroken and crate trained. Unfortunately, Haley came with skin issues and anemia frequently connected to heavy ectoparasite infestations such as a severe flea burden or tick-borne diseases. When an animal is overwhelmed by blood-sucking parasites, they can develop Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD) alongside a dangerous drop in red blood cells (flea anemia). It is heartbreaking to see Hayley dealing with orthopedic pain on top of systemic issues, but we are getting her the comprehensive care she needs. Hayley will be spayed next week.
Hayley is currently settling into her foster home. We will be updating her bio with details about her personality, energy level, and dog/cat compatibility as we get to know her better over the coming days.
Welcome home, Hayley! Your happily-ever-after starts now.

Update from Archie’s foster mom:

Archie is doing great! He is answering to the name already!

If you are looking for a young pup who loves cuddles and will always be right by your side, look no further. Archie is eager to learn, picks up on routines quickly and tries really hard to learn the rules. Archie is crate trained, he may fuss some when it's time for bed but with a little encouragement he will trot right into the crate. When I am out doing yard work, he will simply sit or lay next to you and relax while you do the work. Archie just loves to be involved! Bonus, he is great on a leash.

His cuddles are next level though, molding himself like goo to establish the perfect cuddle position. Archie is extremely playful and loves gathering all of his toys, one at a time, and putting them on the couch.

Archie is still learning to be potty trained and using his mouth less when excited. But after only being with us for a week or so, he is already improving in these areas.

Archie needs a home where he can be given plenty of attention and guidance. Since he is just a puppy learning how to be a dog. He tends to chew on things he shouldn't and be timid when exposed to new things.

Austin nka Archie is a stunning 11 month-old, 45 lb. Weim/maybe Lab boy with a natural tail who was given a second chance at life just in the nick of time. He was set to be euthanized in an overcrowded Georgia shelter. Though he may not be a purebred Weimaraner, he has all the makings of an absolutely amazing companion. He is at that perfect puppy age where he is eager to learn, ready to bond, and full of affection. Archie did great when meeting others...he is definitely high energy, so other dogs in the home will need to be ready to play. Because Archie is still a young pup, he will thrive in a home that can give him lots of structure, plenty of love, and some basic training to help him grow into the best dog he can be. He has a bright, resilient spirit and is ready to leave his past behind to become the center of your world. If you are looking for a loyal, handsome, and grateful pup to join your family adventures, Archie is waiting to meet you! Update: Diesel is an amazing boy! Did great when introduced to a small dog at camp. He’d love a family to call his own.

Welcoming Diesel! Diesel is a big blue 5 year old boy that loves everyone he meets; big kids, little kids, big and little dogs, not sure about cats. He's a great all-around guy!!!! Diesel likes to ride in the car, go on long walks (when it's not too hot), and play ball. Diesel is currently settling in at Camp Bow Wow - Duluth Georgia. If you are interested in adopting Diesel, please visit our website for an application: www.atlantalovesweims.org/adopt

Meet Tanner (fka Gabe)! This handsome approx. 3 year old, possibly Fawn Doberman, was picked up as a stray in N. GA and no one came to reclaim him. It's believed he was dumped. Tanner is doing really well in his foster home with Duke, his Weim foster brother. His foster mom says he's very, very sweet. Unfortunately, Tanner was diagnosed with heartworms and is in the beginning stage of treatment. He will not be available for adoption until the beginning of November, 2026. Special thank you goes out to Cheryl Baer and Michelle/Rich Peach for stepping up to help us save Tanner. We will keep updating his bio as we get to know more about him. If you are interested in helping with Tanner's heartworm treatment, donations can be made through our website: www.atlantalovesweims.org/donate
