Most of my regulars know by now but figured I should share the news here too. Last week I had to say my final goodbye to Dawson… my number one walking, running, hiking buddy for almost 14 years. Hug your fur babies extra tight for me🩶

And somehow I can also remember your dog’s favorite show or music station for background noise 🐶

Wow it’s already July! Happy belated 4th! Now that my busiest weeks are complete, let’s talk about walking dogs on hot days (which I often get asked about.)

As much as I try to get walks in regardless of weather, health and safety ALWAYS has to come first.

I will try to opt for covered walking routes first, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be walking the entire allotted service time. Puppies, seniors, and dogs with shorter snouts tend to struggle more in the summer heat and may require earlier walking times (hello 6am!) and/or shorter walks.

Summer months can look like wooded walking paths, hanging out in the yard underneath a tree, or a quick potty break and then playtime inside!

I want to thank all my clients for their flexibility and understanding when things needed adjusting during this recent heatwave!

I’m back from a FB break. What’s new here you ask?

Nothing😄 I’m still giving cat cuddles, treats, and dog walks!!! Surprisingly, a few weekly slots just opened up. Call or text (740) 374-0501 or message me directly.

Over the weekend, we saw a comparison chart posted by a dog-walking app that indicated that “local walkers” did not offer the same features as their platform.

While we cannot speak to providers listed on this app or others, PSI can tell you that we work with thousands of local professional dog walkers and pet sitters committed to providing the highest quality pet care and excellent customer service.

👀If you’re a pet parent seeking the best care for your pets, look for a locally owned professional pet-sitting or dog-walking service.

A professional pet sitter and/or dog walker:
🐾Operates a registered business
🐾Carries liability insurance (designed for pet-care businesses)
🐾Provides proof of background check
🐾Uses written contracts
🐾Invests in continuing education
🐾Has emergency protocols

In fact, professional providers can deliver more consistent, relationship-based care than app-based options, where experience and training can vary widely.

Many local, professional pet sitters and dog walkers also offer:
✔ Photo and video updates
✔ GPS tracking & route reports
✔ Online booking & payment options

🐾 doesn’t just apply to retail stores and restaurants. Contact your local professional pet sitter or dog walker to learn how they can improve your pet’s care…and simplify your life!
