We've raised cats, Labs, bulldogs and mutts, all rescues, over the last 25 years, and opened our home in 2014 to foster medium- to large-breed dogs to give respite from crowded animal shelters, and sometimes just calm hospice comfort. Little Milly 🐶 has made giant strides in trust and socialization with the help of our Porter 🐕‍🦺 and her new mohawk-sporting pal, Ferguson, a veteran here at BTA BIG DOGS. Day campers and overnight boarders receive supervised, personalized exercise and play, and we ensure cordial introductions to forge new friendships. And Presley? Well, he just loves everyone. And his ball. Definitely his ball. 😃 Book a day of play, or boarding while you’re away. We step in when you need to step out! 🐾☺️

Our journey with Leo began with an Instagram post. One trip to Ft. Lauderdale and he came home with us. We didn’t anticipate he’d lose the ability to walk so quickly, but accepting he’d be our special needs boy, we were more in awe of his determination and willpower. He went from immobile to crawling, to standing to eat, then walking. His strength improved and his back legs returned, so he enjoyed road trips to the NC mountains with 🌈Nina and Porter. Over the last 4.5 years we’ve had the honor to give Leonardo a safe home, protective siblings and day camper friends.
