Giving Miss Latte the space and time to reset muscular tension she’s been holding for 16 YEARS after an intense accident while tied. This is her third session of Equine Hanna Somatics ®️ this week, and we rejoice for her as she embraces her parasympathetic system.

Latte is known to be more alert and sensitive to her surroundings, and has a history of moderate to severe cribbing. Her eyes visibly held an intensity of concern.

Over the last few days, we have noticed a step towards trust and vulnerability as her eyes softened, her back and neck lengthened, and there was a decrease in cribbing!!

I look forward to hearing more about Latte when I check in next week.

I love this moment with this sweet mare. She trusted me enough to settle into a more parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) state. She was still very much aware of her surroundings, but instead of allowing stimulation to keep her in a heightened “fight or flight” response, she chose to come back to me for more craniosacral work.

Craniosacral therapy aims to help reduce tension of the skull and cranial sutures, and support natural flow of cerebrospinal fluid that is vital to the nervous system function.

Cerebrospinal fluid surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord, transports nutrients, and removes waste products. It acts like a highway for nourishment and communication within the central nervous system.

Craniosacral therapy may help create an environment where the nervous system can function more efficiently - less on edge, anxiety, and nervousness, while improving the ability to rest and recover.

This was a happy update to receive today! Copper has so far been one of the “heaviest” limbed horses to start Equine Hanna Somatics®️ with me. Some of his feet were barely able to lift off the ground during movements (not the same as cueing to pick up). This progress photos shows how off balanced he was.

Copper has had 3 sessions with me, and his owner has continued movements for even more progress. So happy for both! Copper has reset muscular tension from within, and his owner has been able to continue to guide him and provide that relief.

Gracie Mae was our raffle winner for 8 bodywork sessions 🎊. We started her first of 3 Equine Hanna Somatic®️ sessions this week, and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
