Cherished Tails Senior Sanctuary The rescue helps homeless dogs, placing them in foster homes either temporarily or long term (Permanent Paws). We have no facility

For dogs who stay with us shorter term & for whom we are a "bridge" they become adoptable once medical needs are addressed.

Steven update.
From his New Dad

Hi, just wanted to check in with you regarding Steven’s first few days with me.
I think he is adjusting well. He figured out the doggie door very quickly and uses it like a pro.
He has not had much appetite and has had some diarrhea. It may be stress from the move and a new environment. He is pretty good about drinking water.
As soon as I sit in my chair he wants to be beside me. He is a very loving little guy. He and Cookie get along very well.
We have been doing short walks in the neighborhood and he enjoys the activity.

Another foster feature!

1st up is the Pacholczyk family! Linda and her 3 "kids" have been involved with the rescue since the very early days. They are neighbors and true animal lovers and have had a handful of adoptable dogs and several hospice pups. They are currently fostering little Coby

We are so sad to share that we had to let Hubert go today. We had seen some improvement a couple of weeks ago and felt optimistic that we would be able to get him fixed up and provide him some quality time. Unfortunately that was not to be. In the last week his eating had really dropped off and he had lost quite a bit of weight so today when he arrived at the vet for his dental surgery they were concerned about proceeding. They did some additional investigation (via xray and ultrasound) and found definite evidence of cancer in his lungs so we decided it was time. His sweet foster mom ran over on her lunch break so that she could be with him as he crossed the bridge. Here is what she wanted to share

Introducing our saves for the day who are on their way to Tucson from Yuma!!

Meet June, Buffy and May!

June is a super senior and completely blind and brought to the shelter when her owner needed to tend to their own medical issues and had to travel out of the country for treatment.

Buffy is also an older gal with some stiffness and sadly nobody came for her. She may have been made to be outside alot or kept outside because she is not a fan and wants to rush right back in according to her Yuma foster.

Last but not least is May a sweet youngster who has been found stray. She will be the first of the 3 to be adoption ready!

Thanks to Jan Halash for giving them their freedom ride and to fosters Cheryl, Teresa and Teri for giving them a place to land!
