🎀 Featured Adoptable Dog at Pitch-A-Pet!🎀

Wonderful Willa is ready for fall fun with her forever family!

Willa is a dream dog! Not only is she perfectly gorgeous with her smooth red-brown coat and soulful, intelligent brown eyes, but she is also already potty trained, walks on a leash, is eager to learn new skills, and is happy to be by your side. Willa is spayed, 8-9 months old and 35-40 lbs.

Willa has been a seamless addition to her foster family’s life of dogs, kids, and activity. She adores playing with her foster dog sister - chasing, tugging, and wrestling in the backyard. But she is also happy to be hugged and loved by her two young human sisters aged 5 & 7. She will snuggle in for a good session of belly rubs and cuddles, sleeps through the night, and easily goes into her crate when it’s time to relax.

Willa is being featured Thursday night, 10/22, at Pitch-A-Friend at Inbound BrewCo at 7pm (701 N 5th St, Minneapolis, MN 55401). Pitch-A-Friend Twin Cities is partnering with Safe Hands Rescue to help get adoptable dogs seen by a new audience. Please share and spread the word!

🌀 Featured Volunteer Role! 🌀

Looking for a way to get involved with Safe Hands and all of our adorable adoptable animals from the comfort of your home? Join the team as a Petfinder Support Volunteer 🐾

In this role, you’ll help to show off each of our animals by highlighting their best attributes and photos for potential adopters. You'll work together with our fosters to curate the perfect profiles and help animals find their forever homes!

What you’ll do:
Add new animals to Petfinder as they become adoptable
Update profiles with new information as needed
Work together with fosters to show off each animal in their best light

We’re looking for someone who:
Has strong written communication skills and ability to learn what makes a good pet bio
Has basic photo editing skills or the ability to learn (we can recommend a free, easy-to-use program)
Can commit 1-3 hours, at least one day per week

🎃👻🤖💀🤡🤠 Have a Safe and Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🤖💀🤡🤠

Halloween can be fun for people, but costumes, candy, doorbells, and unfamiliar visitors can make it a stressful night for our pets. A little planning can help everyone enjoy the evening safely.

💀 Keep candy and treats well out of reach, especially chocolate and anything containing xylitol, which can be dangerous for pets. Watch decorations, too. Curious paws and tails can easily find candles, cords, or small items that could become hazards.

👻 With trick-or-treaters coming and going, consider giving your pet a quiet, comfortable space away from the front door. Even pets who usually enjoy visitors may be unsettled by costumes, masks, and repeated doorbell rings. Make sure your pet is wearing current identification in case they slip outside.

🎃 If your pet will be wearing a costume, keep it simple. It should allow them to move, see, hear, and breathe comfortably. If they seem uncomfortable, skip the costume. A festive bandana can be just as cute.

🤠 The best Halloween treat for your pet may simply be a calm, safe place to spend the evening with you.

It's Golden Ticket Time! Together, saving lives is what we do! Pictured are the lucky kids who arrived nearly two weeks ago into Safe Hands, thanks to the kind humans named under each photo. That could be you!

So many more really deserving kids hope to be on the transport this weekend! To board the van on Friday, they need a Golden Ticket and a Foster Home. There are so, so, so many waiting for their chance to board the van. Please help if you can. We have been recruiting for foster homes all week and we still need more, but now it's time to focus on Golden Tickets for them.

Each Golden Ticket helps cover the cost of transportation from Kentucky to Minnesota, vet exams, vaccinations, and health certificates. In return, we send you a photo of the homeless pet you sponsored, and a Golden Ticket certificate, proving that you are amazing! We also let everybody know here on Facebook, and on our website. The new kids need Golden Tickets and foster homes every transport throughout the year. That means every other week, sometimes more often!

⭐️Foster Homes Needed – Twin Cities Area⭐️
Hi Friends!
We have so many incredibly sweet puppies who are hoping someone will open their hearts and homes this coming weekend so they can begin their journey to the good life. They deserve a fresh start filled with warmth, safety, and love.
These precious pups are just a handful who are ready to begin their next — and best — chapter with families to call their own.
Will you say YES and help them get there?
If you can foster, they truly need you right now. I promise, whatever you can provide is better than where they are currently — and remember, fostering is temporary.
We provide • Food • Collar & leash • Crate • Some toys • All medical care
You provide • A little space in your home • Love and patience • A bit of time to help them find their forever family
And here’s the best part — foster families get the first opportunity to adopt their foster pup!
The puppies pictured are looking for a safe, temporary place to land in the Twin Cities area while they search for their forever homes. If we can secure enough foster families, they will arrive Saturday afternoon.
