The babies. 🥹💜

This morning, Cinder and Goldie were dropped off for their surgeries — and like I do every time I leave one of my babies in someone else’s care, I prayed over them before I walked away.

But today feels a little extra special.

Goldie is the last of Bowie’s babies to reach this milestone. 🥹
And Cinder is the first of Tali’s babies to get here. 🥹

Two little lives from two different rescue stories. Both born into uncertain circumstances. Both now safe, loved beyond measure, and getting the care they deserve.

So I kissed their little heads, told them I loved them, asked God to keep His hand over them, and left my babies in the hands of people I trust. 💜

Now I’ll do the hardest part of rescue:

Wait for the phone to ring and tell me they’re ready to come home. 🥹🐾

Apparently the toy box came with a limited-edition Cinder. 🖤😹

Out of all the soft beds, blankets, cat trees, and perfectly reasonable places to sleep… he climbed into a basket overflowing with toys and decided, “Yep. This is the spot.”

To be fair, he does look pretty cozy. 😂

Just another day at Hannah’s Hopeful Paws, where sometimes you go looking for a toy and find an entire cat instead. 🐾💜

Sometimes rescue work is bottle feeding kittens.
Sometimes it’s nursing sick cats back to health.
Sometimes it’s earning the trust of a scared stray.

And sometimes it’s following a cat you met five minutes ago around in the dark saying, “Can I see your bum?” for almost an entire minute. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Anyway… meet the newest gentleman to wander into my life. 🐈‍⬛

He’s ridiculously friendly, crawled right into my lap, and apparently decided we’re already best friends.

There’s just one little problem…

He is DEFINITELY not neutered. 😹

Sir, you have wandered into the wrong woman’s lap if you were emotionally attached to those balls. ✂️🤣

✨ Rescue win of the week: Our very first grant application was APPROVED! Hannah’s Hopeful Paws received $2,500 in grant funding to help us continue caring for the cats who need us. 🥹💜

💜 Rescue moment of the week: Christopher’s vet visit brought a surprise none of us expected—a microchip. After spending time outside and eventually coming into our care, Christopher was healthy, FIV/FeLV negative, and reunited with his family. Saying goodbye was bittersweet, but getting him safely home was exactly the kind of ending rescue is supposed to have. 🥹🐾

This week is such a beautiful reminder that rescue isn’t always about finding a new home. Sometimes it’s about helping a lost cat find his way back to the one he already had. 💜

Thank you for following their stories and cheering us on through every victory, every vet bill, every goodbye, and every new beginning.

Changing the life of one cat at a time, one day at a time. 💜🐾

Christopher’s story didn’t end the way I thought it would. And if I’m being completely selfish … I really, really miss him. 😭💔

I took Christopher to Lilac Hill Veterinary Hospital, expecting a routine first appointment: an exam, testing, vaccines, and the beginning of whatever came next for him.

Instead, we found something I never expected.

Christopher was perfectly healthy. He tested negative for FIV and FeLV. And then they scanned him …

He had a microchip!

They contacted the microchip company, I contacted the family, and we learned that Christopher had been missing for two years.

Two years. 😭

And just like that, the sweet boy I had fallen completely in love with wasn’t a stray who needed me to find him a home.

He already had one. 🥹

His family came to get him that same day, and Christopher went home.

I won’t pretend it wasn’t bittersweet. I cried. I worried. I already miss his little face, his belly rubs, his purrs, and the way he had so quickly made himself part of my world. I would have loved him forever.

But this is rescue, too.

Sometimes changing the life of one cat means giving them a brand-new beginning.

And sometimes it means helping them find their way back to the people who have been missing them for two years. 💜🐾

And on this $5 Friday, Christopher is the perfect reminder of why every little donation matters. Five dollars helps provide the food, supplies, medications, and veterinary care that allow me to say “yes” when another cat like Christopher shows up.

Because if I hadn’t said yes to Christopher, we may never have found that tiny little chip that finally led him home. 🥹

Happy fairy tale ending, Christopher. I miss you already. 💜

Apparently Willow discovered the cat wheel today and immediately decided he has been training for this moment his entire life. 😹🏃‍♂️💨

There’s something so sweet about watching these babies discover new things for the very first time. No big rescue update today … just 29 seconds of Willow running his little heart out and me being ridiculously proud of him. 🥹💜

It’s the little things. 🐾

Bowie and Onyx had their surgeries today, and on the way home, neither one could quite keep their eyes open… or their heads up. 🥹😅

I put them in the same carrier for the ride home so they’d have something familiar after a long, scary day.

After all, sometimes you just need your Momma. 🥹❤️

And sometimes Momma needs her baby, too.

They’re home, they’re safe, and now Momma Bowie and her baby boy can rest, recover, and cuddle up with the rest of her babies. 💜🐾

08/17/2026

This morning, Bowie and Onyx headed in for their spay & neuter surgeries. 🥹🐾

Before we went inside, I prayed over them … for protection, for guidance for their surgical team, and smooth recoveries when I take them home. 💜💜

Onyx seemed to take the whole thing reasonably well.

Bowie, however, appears to be reconsidering every life choice she has ever made. 😅😂

These days are always a little nerve-wracking for me, no matter how routine the surgery may be. So today I’ll be waiting for that wonderful phone call telling me my babies are awake, doing well, and ready to come home. 🤍

Please say a little prayer for Bowie & Onyx today. 🙏🐾

Sometimes purpose doesn’t look glamorous.

Sometimes it looks like a kitchen floor covered in bowls, a dozen little faces gathered for dinner, food on the floor, dishes waiting to be washed, and the knowledge that you’ll be doing it all over again tomorrow. 😂🐾

But when I look at this view, I don’t see the work.

I see cats who are safe. Cats who are fed. Cats who are loved. Cats who get to fall asleep tonight without wondering where their next meal will come from.

Some are here forever. Some are only passing through on their way to the families they were meant to find. But for however long they’re entrusted to me, they’re part of this little family. ❤️

Life really doesn’t get any better than finding your purpose.

And somehow, I found mine covered in fur and surrounded by food bowls. 🥹🐾
