Dental chews can be a helpful addition to your pet's oral-care routine, but they shouldn't completely replace toothbrushing.

Regular brushing helps disrupt plaque before it hardens into tartar. For extra support, ask your veterinarian about dental products that are appropriate for your pet.

Pet Of The Day: Willow!! 🐾🩷

Meet Willow 🐱 who came and Established care with us today, we’re excited for you to join the family 🥰 Willow’s owners were concerned about her right eye looking cloudy, and having some redness around it. We’re giving her eyes some extra TLC to help keep her comfortable and healthy. 💕

We checked her eye pressure during her visit because just like in humans, checking a cat’s eye pressure helps your veterinarian detect problems such as glaucoma, which can cause pain, damage the optic nerve, and lead to vision loss if left untreated. 👁️

Today she was prescribed a steroid eye drop. That will help reduce inflammation, redness, and discomfort in the eye, supporting the healing process. However, they aren’t appropriate for every eye problem, so your primary veterinarian must check for conditions such as corneal ulcers (which is a scratch on the eye) before prescribing.

We all adored meeting you sweet Willow, and we all hope your eye feels better quickly!! 🐱🥰🩷

Happy vet tech week! This week we appreciate the technicians, as well as other animal caretakers, in our clinic. Vendors and reps send goodies and gifts of appreciation. We are taking a moment to thank each and every one of our girls and all the hard work and good medicine provided to our furry patients. Making sure your family member is loved and treated as though they are one of our own fur babies!

If you feel so inclined, we would love to show each of them how loved and appreciated they are from you all. Share a warm thought for the entire team, or comment directly on the photo of one of these ladies about a moment that sticks with you. We love our techs, assistants, and client services representatives. This isn't always an easy field to work in, and we all show up for you and your pet's with our entire heart, because we love them all and care for all the patients.

Happy POTD to sweet Poly! 🐾 She may look a little nervous here but she was very brave today for her appointment! 🥹💖
She came in to check her skin and ears that started acting up from an allergy flare up! 🤧🍂 Sometimes even well managed and controlled allergies can have a flare! It’s important that we see your pet at these times to make sure there is not an active skin or ear infection developing from the constant licking and scratching! 🐕🩺
Poly’s humans and Dr. Brown got her all fixed up today with a plan to get her skin and ears feeling better with some antibiotics and steroids as well as a laser treatment!
✨ Poly sat very nicely for her cold laser therapy treatment on her ears which helps reduce the swelling, speed up the healing, and provide some relief! ❤️‍🩹
We will see Poly back in a couple weeks to make sure she is in the clear by rechecking her cytology 🔬 and making sure that skin inflammation has gone down! 👋🐶

Today's goes to this little one, Penny. Penny is rocking one of our new bandanas, and yellow is definitely her color!

Penny lives full time on the Carolina shores, but it's in the area frequently when her human has to come up for work. So, she has a primary vet back home, and uses us whenever she is in the area and due for something, or if she needs to see a vet for something. This is important because it allows her to have consistent care and regular doctors that know her. We are able to correspond back and forth toto make sure that her records stay up to date at 2 locations. Today, Penny was in because, like many of us and our dogs, Virginia makes her itchy. We have her her Cytopoint injection, and some medicated topicals to help get rid of the itch and enjoy her time in Virginia!
