I have some very sad news. Our beloved Sagira Marie, affectionately known as Rahrah, has crossed the 🌈 Bridge.

This morning, I hand-fed her, and while she didn’t eat as much as she normally would, she did manage to get a little food in her stomach so she could take her medications. About an hour later, I called her name, but there was no response—no little tail thump, no twitch of her ears, not even a glance in my direction. I went to her, gently lifted her little head, and saw the blank look in her eyes and that her nose was running.

I rushed her to the local emergency hospital, but Rahrah chose to leave this world on her own terms. She passed away on the way there. The staff tried CPR, but they were unable to bring her back.

Needless to say, I am absolutely devastated. I probably won’t be posting for a few days. I just need some time to process the loss of my sweet girl. šŸ¾šŸ¾šŸ˜šŸ’”

**Long post for us**

We are home. She has an elevated fever again, but the doctor felt it was safer for her to be home than to be at the hospital in an environment where she could catch anything that comes in the door. Her white cell count is mildly improved but not in a safe zone just yet. Since she will eat when I hand feed her, the doctor said, bring her home and just hand feed her. I plan to leave food out in case she decides to try to eat on her own.

So we get home and I put her in the room. I came back downstairs to get Mr mousey and get some food so that I could feed her since she hadn’t really eaten since yesterday afternoon. $250 later what do I find? She ate a third of the plate of food that was on the mat upstairs from breakfast!! When she saw me with the plate of food, though, she jumped up on the bed and let me feed her almost the entire plate of food! So she now has a good 2 to 2 1/2 ounces of food in her. The plan is to get that much or more into her 2 to 3 times a day. (She should be having 6 to 7 ounces of wet food a day.)

She has been laying in this odd spot… On the mat where her water bowl is for the last 24 hours. Not consistently but noticeably enough. I am wondering if it’s cooler to lay there than in the bed and maybe that’s her preference with this fever?

We got new antibiotics and we’re discontinuing one of the ones she got from her hospital stay. She goes back Tuesday for another blood test with the oncology department. If she still has the fever, they will be doing an ultrasound and then potentially a bone marrow extraction. They are unsure whether this unresolved fever is because of a random infection she has or if, Heaven forbid, the cancer has metastasized into her abdominal lymph glands or into her bone marrow. Keep those prayers coming gang. Love to you all and thanks.

Rahrah unfortunately did not eat overnight and did not touch anything I gave her for breakfast. We will be headed back to the hospital shortly for more bloodwork and an evaluation. I just hope she comes home with me and doesn’t have to stay. We will take Mr. Mousey with us for support.

A quick Friday night update on Rahrah and many thanks to all of you for all of your well wishes.

She did attempt to nibble some food today, but it was very little. In speaking with the nurse who cared for her in ER, we worked out a plan and we’re giving it until tomorrow for her to try to eat at least half of a meal on her own. If she does not do this by tomorrow morning, she is definitely taking a ride back to the hospital. ļæ¼

Although she still has not eaten since she came home, it is so good to see her, curled up and relaxed like this on the camera. This morning she was so fidgety and would start to fall asleep and then jump. When I spoke to the nurse at the hospital, she said that’s from being in the hospital. From constantly having someone poking, prodding… They never get a good restful sleep just like we don’t when we’re in the hospital. I just hope this baby girl eats at some point today. ļæ¼

Morning biscuits.

Still very worried about our girl. She did not eat overnight and she feels a bit warm to me this morning. I’m not sure if it’s because it is just so hot out and my room is not the coolest room in the house or if she’s running a temperature again. Going to try a few different foods, but if no improvement by this afternoon, we may be headed back to the hospital.ļæ¼
