We received a wonderful update about our rescue dog, Christopher. ❤️

Christopher was abandoned and left to survive on the streets after his owner no longer wanted him. When he came into rescue, he was extremely fearful of people and unsure of the world around him.

This amazing family opened their hearts to him and gave him the time, patience, understanding, and love he needed to heal. Little by little, Christopher learned to trust again, and today he is thriving in his forever home.

Stories like Christopher's remind us that love, patience, and kindness can truly change a dog's life. We are so grateful to his wonderful family for giving him the happy ending he deserved. 🐾

Remember Theodore. ❤️

When Theodore arrived at our rescue, he had a severe eye infection that had been left untreated for a long time. We truly did not know if he would recover. He was in so much pain, and his future was uncertain.

But Theodore never gave up. With treatment, care, and so much love, he made an incredible recovery. Today he is healthy, comfortable, pain free, and finally able to enjoy life.

Seeing dogs like Theodore heal and trust again is one of the most beautiful parts of rescue. 🐾

We need help providing heartworm prevention, and we’re looking for loving people willing to sponsor one monthly pill for one of our rescue dogs. ❤️🐾

I’m posting photos of only 20 of our adoptable rescue dogs, and you can choose who you’d like to help by sponsoring their monthly heartworm prevention pill. Each pill costs just $10 per month

Please remember that most of these dogs arrived to us heartworm positive. Many have already gone through heartworm treatment injections, which as many of you know are extremely expensive (often around $500 or more, depending on the dog's size). But even after treatment, they still need monthly prevention for life.

You can also call Canfel Vet: 281-477-3577 and ask them to add a heartworm prevention donation for D&A Animal Rescue dogs. ❤️

It’s not impossible for large groups of rescued dogs to play together and get along. But it takes a lot of dedication and, most importantly, the right environment. Dogs need to run, play, socialize, and release their energy. ❤️🐾

I’ll never understand how some dogs spend so many hours confined. Rescue is not just about getting them out of a shelter or off the streets; it’s also about giving them quality of life.

Here’s a moment where some of our dogs get to socialize, enjoy the weather, relax after playtime, and simply be dogs the way they should be.

She lives for the little joys: feeling the wind during car rides, exploring new trails, and staying close to her people. Whether it’s an outdoor adventure or just being by your side, Pinta is happiest when she’s part of your world.
She does wonderful with other dogs and loves to play, making her a great companion for a home with furry friends or an active family.
Pinta is spayed and potty trained, ready to transition smoothly into her forever home. She has so much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give her the life she deserves.

Quick update on Theodor 🐾

We were really scared it was something worse, but thankfully there’s no ulcer in his eye 🙏 The vet said it’s a pretty bad infection, and he’s now on eye drops, prednisone, antibiotics, and pain meds.
He’s still in pain, but today his eye looks a little better, which gives us some hope 💔
We’re doing everything we can for him, but the vet bills are adding up fast. If anyone is able to help, even a small donation truly makes a difference for his care 🙏

We rescued this sweet boy as an owner surrender, and he needs urgent help. 💔
He is suffering from a severe eye infection, and we don’t know how long he has been in this condition. It’s clear he hasn’t received the care he needed for some time, and his pain is heartbreaking.

He needs immediate veterinary care to treat his eyes, along with full vetting, including vaccines and testing for heartworm. We are doing everything we can, but the medical costs are quickly adding up.

Please, if you can, consider donating to help cover his emergency care. Every dollar makes a difference and goes directly toward giving him the chance at a pain-free, healthy life.

Playtime with our rescue pups 🐾💛 Nothing makes us happier than seeing them safe, loved, and finally able to just be dogs.
As the weather gets warmer, don’t forget to keep them cool and refreshed—lots of water, shade, and breaks are so important ☀️💦

Jellybean’s journey has been truly incredible. Her beautiful family shared the most wonderful update on her life—she was adopted one year ago, and since then she has been surrounded by love, happiness, and adventure.

We rescued her when she was in such terrible condition, so seeing her shine so brightly now is absolutely amazing.

They also adopted Bernie from us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you Megan Shea and Christopher Shea for all the love, care, and dedication you’ve given them. 💛
