THE 12 LAWS OF JUNIOR MIF
Law No. 4 — Presence! Be Here. NOW.
Junior Mif was always present. Not always still. Present. Know your past, be curious about your future. Live and breathe NOW in this moment. You cannot be two places at the same time…
Mif Life Law No. 4 — Presence. Be here. Really be Here. Right Now.

She knew what was happening, what she was feeling, and what was needed in that moment. Sometimes the answer was Yes. Sometimes it was No. Sometimes it was Wait. And sometimes it was Move.
If a participant was brushing her yet their mind was somewhere else, Mif might simply move a few feet away—just far enough that the brush couldn’t reach her. She wasn’t being difficult. Mif was saying, “You’re not here with me, are you?.”
And she would disengage, wait, turn and face them, turn and face away, it would depend – on the present moment. When the person slowed down, became curious, and figured out what they needed to change, Mif might step back in and re-present. If being led, without presence she would stop or go the other way. Once mindfulness and presence complete Mif was largely agreeable that made outcomes meaningful.
The YES came. Sometimes Mif had to say NO to create the possibility of Yes. That was her way.
Mif had great memory, and accumulated wisdom, yet did not live in her past. She wasn’t worried about her future. Mif responded to what was happening (or not happening) right now. And that is what made her so decisive. How can you make a clear decision when your mind is somewhere else?
You cannot.
Mif taught us that presence isn’t passive. Presence is participation. Sometimes the answer arrives when you become still enough to hear it.
You want peace? You want clarity? Must be here in the present to see what is happening. Must be OK here in the present to understand what you are feeling. Must be present here now to hear what is being asked of you. Then can make a choice about what is happening right now — better odds than could’ve, would’ve or should’ve.

Donkey Main Herd integration day 2! We arrive to find brazen Gloria eating with the main herd on the main hay! Edith and GusArchie are inside the barn. Edith has slowly said Hello to a few, Gloria is already meeting others. Gussie on the other hand is making space. He did approach one donkey one time, (it was one of the founding 3 geldings - the Bosses - who was napping. And while GusA did approach nicely it wasn’t welcomed and so that was it for GusArchie. Any other donkey of Equid being that approached him - he either walks or runs off! Sensitive little man he is. And. While it’s a little tough for Mom2legs to watch, Mom4legs (Edith the Donkey) is encouraging it. Due to circumstance adorable Gussie was a little bit “Peter Panned” and while he is sensitive (a good teacher and therapist) he also needs to have his male emotional/mental world strong. Uncle Dane gave him a good start, this experience will ultimately be amazing for Mr GusA - so due to circumstance we get to watch this development as natural as can be with the orchestrators as God would have it… that he learns from other Donkeys! We are lucky to have this arrangement right now.

Here in this video, you will find our Family of Dokeys - momma Edith, daughter/sister Gloria, and son/brother GusArchie meeting the Main Herd of donkeys through fence panels at Virginia Farm Animal Sanctuary. There are more than 30 donkeys in the Main big Herd so this will be what I kept saying was going to be the “Donkey Adventure” Edith was first to the fence which surprised/not surprised me, as she is a very SHY creature by nature who tends to stand in the back and watch and wait - yet these are her kids so she’s going to be a Mom. It took a little bit for GusArchie and Gloria to say Hello. While inside the barn, I couldn’t help getting a little choked up watching Gussie take notice and then interest in 2 Large White beings in this herd. A white horse who is blind named Ty and his friend a very large white mule named Tiny Tim. GusArchie noticed them and stayed interested in them for some time. The first four years of GusArchie’s life he was partially raised by a Large White Lipizzaner named Dane. Uncle Dane to Gussie. In 2022 Dane left one night for emergency surgery. Tragically for all of us Dane never came back Home. Gussie looked for him for a long time. Gussie just turned 8 and has not seen his uncle Dane in 4years. Makes you wonder a bit.!? Come back tomorrow when we — open the gate. The DONKEY ADVENTURE begins…
