Sometimes we can do everything and still lose them.💔😢

Yesterday, Izzy's Foster Mom let us know one of her kittens (edit*...2nd born) was struggling. He wasn't latching on & eating and was having labored breathing.

I finished up work and drove the 40 mins there right away. It was obvious human intervention was needed. So I took him and contacted our Vet.
Despite doing everything could do, last night shortly after 11 p.m. while I laid in bed listening to the rumble of the thunder he let out a few very loud horrible cries, then silence. He was gone. 😭

I named him Thunder. His little life mattered. My heart is so incredibly sad. We will have him cremated and he will come back "home" with me.

As of 6:30 this morning Momma Izzy 🖤🧡🤎 FINALLY had some kittens! And she's currently working on another. 💞 Will have a final count later this morning, along with an update.

It's like Koa knew I told Facebook world how great he has been doing and he just wanted to keep me on my toes. 😞

He started the day with some vomiting at 5 a.m., liquid poops throughout the day and not eating much. I gave him Cerenia and he was a little bit more himself this evening.

Really hoping this is only a little speed bump in the road and that he is better tomorrow. 🤞

Friday was a good day to make up some boredom buster Kongs for my dog friends at Mason County Animal Control.

I put them in the freezer then took them in yesterday.

They absolutely LOVE them this time I added a little bit of green beans! 😁

Saturday mornings are for visiting friends at Mason County Animal Control
Ok.... I'm there several other days throughout the week too but there's something about Saturday mornings.

There were a few other people there volunteering too; walking dogs and socializing the cats. So I spent most of my time there with my friend Mellow.

He started having diarrhea Thursday so I stopped at the Vet's office yesterday and picked up some Endosorb. Hopefully that resolves soon. 🤞 While I was there I made an appointment for him to have a chest x-ray & possible ultrasound on the concerning mass in his chest/arm pit area. It's scheduled for the 9th.

It seemed to have even more edema today and I don't have a good feeling about all of this. I sure wish someone could give this older man a home for however much time he has left. 😥

We're at 9️⃣ full days into stopping extended F.I.P. treatment and Koa 🤎 is doing AMAZING.!! 💪
Absolutely NO regression. 🤞

I brought him home from Mason County Animal Control 16 weeks ago yesterday. Initially to give him some extra TLC over the weekend and then have him checked out at the Vet that following week.

But then the following day....16 weeks ago TODAY Michelle and I made that emergency run to Pomona Park Animal Urgent Care with him. He had a temperature of 105⁰, was scary lethargic, extreme diarrhea, not drinking water or eating on his own. We were treating the symptoms with no real idea of what was going on. But in doing that those meds SAVED HIS LIFE. They made it possible to get him though through weekend and make it to his Vet appt at our local vet that week. A few days later..... F.I.P. meds were started and here we are today! ❤️‍🩹

We are on the right path of continued strength, growth and progress. And literally every day is a blessing. 💞

Mason County Animal Control is VERY low on bleach!!

If you are looking for ways to help something as simple as buying and donating a bottle of bleach is a great help! ANY brand is fine.
