If you’ve ever wondered what we do during a drop-in visit, here’s what a typical visit looks like!
When we first walk in, we greet your pets calmly. We don’t want to get everyone too riled up right at the door! We usually head outside first to give them a chance to potty, get some energy out, and enjoy some attention and playtime if the weather is nice.
Once they’ve had their fun outside, we head back in and follow their lead. Some pets want to play with toys, go for a walk, or have a good game of tug-of-war. Others would rather relax on the couch, curl up in our laps for some pets, or hang out beside us for belly rubs. And some just want to nap in their favorite spot while we keep them company. That’s perfectly fine, too!
We never force attention or play. Every pet has their own personality, preferences, and boundaries, and we respect that. Our goal is to make each visit enjoyable and comfortable for them, not to force them into doing something they don’t want to do just so we look busy.
After playtime, we take care of any scheduled meals, refresh their water, and clean up any messes. We always prioritize your pet’s needs first, then take care of the little things around the house, like bringing in the mail or watering plants.
Before we leave, we double-check that everything is secure and your pets are settled. We also send you a visit update with photos so you can see how your pets are doing while you’re away!
Then we say our goodbyes and let them know we’ll be back to see them again soon. 🩷
Every visit looks a little different because every pet is different. Whether your pet wants to run around and play or simply have someone sit beside them for a while, we’re happy to meet them where they are.
That’s what pet sitting is all about: making sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved, even when you can’t be home with them.
