GRRAND Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND) - Greater Louisville, KY, Greater Lexington, KY & Greater Cincinnati Area.

GRRAND is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since our inception in 1994, we’ve rescued and re-homed more than 5,000 Golden Retrievers and mixed breed dogs. Averaging around 200-300 intakes per year, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected along with those who are the victims of changed life circumstances such as finan

cial hardship, divorce, allergies, relocation, illness, or death. The medical resources and cost required to rescue one dog are vast, ranging from basic vaccinations and medical tests to heartworm treatment and surgeries. We rely on adoption fees, donations, and fundraising so that we never have to say no to a dog in need.

Yappy Hour is ON at Highlands Tap Room, and GRRAND and Adopt Me Bluegrass are taking over Bardstown Road with adoptable pups, swag, and Bluegrass charm.

Old Forester (thanks, Brown‑Forman!) is sponsoring a make‑your‑own tie dye bandana station, and Wiggle Wow is handing out Old Forester dog cookies for the goodest boys and girls.

Pacifico Bear will be here from 4pm to 6pm to engrave dog tags.

URGENT: MANDI & CHESTER NEED AN ADOPTER TOGETHER

Mandi and Chester have already survived more than any pair of young dogs should. Dumped on the side of the road with no one but each other, they were rescued by a kind stranger and brought safely to GRRAND. Through every bit of fear and uncertainty, they have only ever had one constant: each other.
And now they urgently need a home willing to keep them together.

Meet Mandi
A 1‑year‑old, petite Golden mix (about 40 lbs), Mandi is sweet, calm, and independent. She’s house‑trained, great on a leash, and absolutely adorable — the kind of soft, cuddly dog little girls dream about. She loves exploring the yard, watching wildlife, and relaxing nearby.

She is a clever little escape artist, so she’ll need a secure setup and someone who can supervise outdoor time. Her foster calls her a “happy little busybody with a constant grin.”

Meet Chester
Chester is a small, handsome Golden mix who loves people and wants to please. He checks in with his humans, enjoys toys and chew items, and is making steady progress in foster care. He can be hesitant with new people or dogs, but he warms up quickly and would benefit from continued training and confidence‑building.

He loves to walk, run, sniff, and be near his people.

Why They Must Stay Together
These two rely on each other for comfort and confidence. They decompress better together, rest better together, and face the world better together. Separating them would break the only sense of safety they’ve known.

What They Need
• A patient adopter
• A secure above‑ground fenced yard
• Someone willing to continue building their confidence
• A home ready to love both of them
• They are crate‑trained, potty‑trained, and get along with other dogs

They are gentle, sweet, and so easy to love — especially as a pair.

Meet Dixie & Darling, two 6‑month‑old Great Pyrenees badger sisters rescued from a heartbreaking situation in Radcliff.

After being found chained outside a small local business and ordered to be euthanized by Animal Control, a compassionate employee reached out and GRRAND stepped in just in time.

These girls are now safe at our partner kennel, settling in and beginning their new chapter. Even after everything they’ve endured, they remain gentle, observant, and full of that classic Pyr sweetness.

They’re not on the GRRAND website just yet, but you can apply now.

The weather is perfect, the water is ready, and you have no excuses — grab your pup and come join the fun!

Pre‑registration is closed so we can finish setting up,
BUT WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING WALK‑INS!

Bring your altered pup’s vaccine records and a chair, and head to Grand Central Station for a night of splashes, smiles, and summer energy.

🐶 Event Details
📅 TONIGHT — Friday, June 5th
🕕 5:30–7:30 PM (that’s in 30 minutes!)

💦 Pool time + play yard rotations
