🐀✨ Silvermane rats are basically the magical color-shifting grandpas of the rat world.

One of the coolest things about the silvermane gene is that many silvermane rats are born looking fairly normal and then slowly develop more and more silver ticking as they age. Some can become dramatically frosted or almost completely silvered over time. I have included photos of CupKate as an example. ❄️

🐀✨ Double Rex rats are some of the most unique-looking ratties out there.

One of the coolest things about the double rex gene is that their fur is constantly changing! A double rex can go from fluffy and curly… to nearly bald… and then grow patches back again. No two coats are ever exactly alike, and even the same rat can look completely different from month to month. 👀

Their whiskers are usually curled or crinkly too — one of the easiest ways to spot rex genetics in babies!

Fun fact:
🧬 Rex + Rex = Double Rex

Double rex rats inherit two copies of the rex gene, which affects how their hair grows and molts. That’s what gives them their unique patchy, velvety, ever-changing appearance.

Some double rex rats keep more fur, while others may stay mostly hairless except for scattered patches. Their coats can also change with age, hormones, and seasons.

Online Rat Show with Prizes!
All Rats welcome - Pet owners and Breeders

We are trying to find out if anyone would be interested in showing their rats for fun. Shows would be once monthly with 3 - 6 classes. There would be some just-for-fun classes along with regular classes.

Entry fees would be $3 per class to help with prizes, ribbons & postage. Each class will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Along with an entry form, you would need to submit photos & or videos for the judges. Each rat would need its own entry form.

If enough people show interest, our first show would be in August.

Fun classes would be decided by popular vote, and regular classes would be decided by the current month's team of Judges.

These shows are just for fun; they are not affiliated with any group/club or association.

It's ridiculous I have to even make this PSA.
But, Tessa Rose decided to report me to Louisville Metro Animal Services for inhumane culling practices / animal cruelty and has since blocked my page. This is a SERIOUS accusation coming from someone I have never met or spoken to in my life. Instead of reaching out and asking about my practices, just went straight to the authorities. I cull humanely to American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines. I have also pictured my chamber, the same I showed to the agent assigned. Per their own words: This is the GOLDEN standard. Instead of hiding behind a keyboard, please speak to me first before assuming I am ever CRUEL to any of my animals.

In light of this situation, I am going back to a CLOSED rattery and will go back to breeding for only myself. I will continue to CULL as I see fit and will change my original plans and will donate my CULLS to falconers or a wildlife rehab facility.

The only thing I will hold accountability for is using the wrong wording, perhaps.

Photos will be posted soon of current litters.

I still have the trio of 12.23.2026 double rex boys available. If they do not find homes when I am on vacation (about 2 weeks) the black double rex boy will be kept for future breeding. I have enough American Blue currently in my rattery, so the others will be culled for space.

03.19.2026 litter was 5 weeks as of 04.23.2026.
There will be 8 boys available, pending temprament testing, when they are 8 weeks of age (05.14.2026). There were 4 girls as I will be holding them all back.

I also had 2 litters born over the weekend.
A dwarf litter, which 4 of 5 survived and a standard litter born last night. I have not counted 🫘 yet. I always give new mommas 3 days to just do their rat mom things before being hands on.

A friendly PSA, if you do not agree with my practices, then I may not be the rattery for you. Feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to give a recommendation for someone who can better suit your needs.
