As of now, we are planning to be at the South End Community Market in the morning. Put your galoshes and raincoat on and come grab some great, fresh, local produce. I am only bringing microgreens and fresh basil in case the weather takes a turn.

See y'all (I hope) and will post if weather dictates a change of plans. Stay safe and be well!

We are keeping a close eye on the weather. The South End Community Market is a rain or shine market, but it does get cancelled if lightning is in the area.

This may be the final harvest of the kale until the weather and bugs break. Sometimes growing things organically means you can't save your plants from pests.

But tomorrow I will have a few bags of kale and tons of microgreens for you. Due to the weather, I probably won't bring anything else, but we'll see after the reports later today.

Hmmmm what’s this I wonder ?

Missed y'all yesterday, but enjoyed spending part of the day with my son.

I will be back this coming Saturday and I'm coming loaded with all your favorite big leafy greens and itty bitty microgreens. Herbs galore and who knows what else.

See y'all in a week!

I know we are all anxious over this parasite possibly linked to commercially, large-scale grown lettuce. Well, while no farmer can make guarantees...most local, small-scale, ORGANIC farmers use safer, healthier, and gentler practices. Head out to your favorite local farmer's market and get to know the person growing your food. Ask them which produce in their booth they actually grow themselves, how they grow it, how they fertilize or manage pests, how they process. Etc. And if they have something you're unfamiliar with, ask for some tips on using it. You may find your favorite produce item is one you've never tasted before!

Here is a great and delicious (and easy) kale salad recipe. I will have limited bags of mixed leafy greens and a few bags of just kale for the market tomorrow.

The BEST kale salad recipe made with fresh, hearty kale, Parmesan cheese, toasted almonds, dried cranberries, and a lemon balsamic dressing.
