We’re Allie & Emily—best friends for 22 years with a combined 26 years of experience in pet care and grooming. We genuinely love what we do, and we are so excited to do it together. We started with Allie’s Mutt Hut, but we’ve decided to downsize and partner up!

Snip Happens is our cozy, home-based grooming setup, created to make grooming feel comfortable, personal, and unhurried. We follow AKC S.A.F.E. handling guidelines, keep our schedule intentionally small, and give each pup our full attention. Whenever possible, they get to set the pace. 🩷

We specialize in dogs 25lbs and under—partly because we adore the little guys and partly because we’re getting old and crunchy and our backs have submitted their formal complaints. 😂

We’re laid-back, lighthearted women who are genuinely happy with life and thrilled to be doing something we love together from the comfort of home. Expect good conversation, plenty of laughs, lots of baby-talking, and two people who care just as much about how your pup feels during their groom as how adorable they look afterward.

We’re not trying to run the biggest salon or pack our calendar from morning to night. We simply want to do good work, love on some little dogs, enjoy our days, and send your babies home clean, cute, and feeling good.

We have BIG NEWS. For those who loved us at Allies Mutt Hut, we know we’ve been all around Louisville for the past ten months, but we are back in the south end to do what we love and hopefully see our pups again! This time I (Allie) am not the sole owner. Me and Emily have decided to be official partners in business - because we are a dynamic duo. Services will be held in Emily’s house beginning on weekends to rebuild our client list. Due to space, and old age (haha) we can only see small breeds. 2 feet tall and under. We still use the same products and bring an even higher quality of work than before (we’ve picked up some mad skills). Turn-around will be quicker with our new flow, while still maintaining our attention to happy, healthy, and safely handled pups. We really hope to see you all! If you have any questions or would like to schedule, we welcome you to reach out. We have availability beginning this Saturday, August 29th. Yayyyyyyy! 🐶 🥳

Feeling so proud of myself. Four hours, a labor of love for my career. I rarely get to do haircuts that truly utilize my skill set, but today I did and it feels so GOOD. kudos to Romeo for being the best boy and standing for the entire process. He made the experience truly incredible.

Hey friends & clients 🐾

For my small dog clients who don’t want to make the drive out to Prospect, I’m hoping to start offering weekend grooming appointments right at my apartment for small pups only. (I live off Gagel/Manslick 40214)

To do this safely and properly, I need a grooming table and a small velocity dryer, which together come out to about $350.

I just changed jobs and my income is pretty tight and unpredictable right now, so I’m asking for a little help getting this setup off the ground. If anyone feels like donating or sharing this, I would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit helps and goes straight toward making this happen. ❤️

This would let me keep serving my local small-dog clients without the long drive and keep doing what I love. Thank you all so much for the support you’ve always shown me 🐶✨
