“September is my wound, my sorrow, my endless tears” - Roxane

3 years ago, only 4 days after the anniversary of the arson fire that claimed the lives of Jak and Touzo, JACK Primate Sanctuary was hit with another tragedy.

Monga, Hussein, Cesar, Banda, and Bunia were stolen from their night house. Banda and Bunia were abandoned in the forest and miraculously made their way back to sanctuary. Monga, Hussein, and Cesar were taken for ransom.

Today, we remind everyone of their story. We will never stop searching for them. And, until they are found, they deserve the be remembered ❤️

Find out who you are and do it on purpose 🎀

Mama Angeline is a staple at JACK Primate Sanctuary With a degree in biology, Angeline has always had a passion for wildlife and it shows in her dedication to the rescues at JACK.

From the moment she began working in 2006 until now, twenty years later, Mama Angeline has poured her heart into our important conservation work.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has found conservation to be a part of who they are 💚

It is our job to share with you the stories of each rescue at JACK Primate Sanctuary. But what happens when we don’t know the whole story?

Ngani and Kisa mysteriously arrived at a local zoo in the DRC. No seizure documents, no background information, no clue as to where they came from. Their history and the trauma they endured as trafficked chimpanzees had been completely erased.

Luckily, they were transferred to JACK Primate Sanctuary where they will receive the love, care, and respect that they deserve. And where their story will never be silenced again.
